I've made no secret of the fact that I hope the Dees draft Jacob Van Rooyen from Claremont at Pick 17. And I do think he'll likely be available at that pick. But the question is, who do I think we should draft if Van Rooyen is taken earlier? Well in my opinion the answer is Rhett Bazzo, also from WA, but out of Swan Districts (Neville Jetta's old club). Key position player with a huge kick, who like Van Rooyen can play at either end of the ground, but is probably more considereda defender. Was named at FB in the Cal Twomey's U/18's team of the year, this is what Cal said about him. Key defender/forward 195cm/81kg Swan Districts/Western Australia 17/10/03 Nudged his way into the top-30 after his standout key defensive game earlier this month for Western Australia. Bazzo collected 18 disposals against South Australia and showed he can set up the play with the ball in his hands and his penetrating kicking. Bazzo was an All-Australian at under-16s level and has proven he can also swing into attack and make an impact too. Rumor going around that we are looking into him. I'm very keen as I think he ticks a lot of boxes with his ability to play multiple positions. Commitment seems to be a slight issue, however with Macca in his ear, I'd like to think we could get him very cheap and have something really special on our hands. I'm all for him. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-11-15/meet-tom-lamb http://www.aflplayerratings.com.au/Ratings/Player/120116/Tom-LAMB

Has been mentioned by another poster (I can't remember who) that apparently we're into him. Delisted by Brisbane, he's been plagued by groin issues over his first two seasons restricting him to about 15-20 NEAFL games. Comes in at about 194cm and 83kg, he looks to move pretty well, can take a mark and is also capable of playing at either end which is a good quality for players to have now. If he were also capable of being able to rotate onto a wing he's the exact type of player our list could do with. I'm not sure if the club are looking at him as a delisted free agent or rookie. But interested to hear people's thoughts on the kid who was the Lions first pick in the 2014 draft and also the poster who first mentioned we were into him.
