So we have Werridee’s ‘best 22’ for 2020, however it is interesting to think about who is ‘depth’ and who are ‘fringe 22’ Here are some of my thoughts Fringe (can get a gig): Melksham Jones (where do we fit him into the 22?) Preuss (?) Vandenberg Sparrow Dunkley OMac .... and here is where it starts to get interesting Depth (gotta be a lot of development or injuries for them to get a run) Jordon Nietschke Chandler Bedford Bradtke Spargo (a big call) ANB (teacher’s pet??) If we can keep a fit team on the paddock, then these guys can all enjoy extended (development) time at Casey. So who would be in each of your lists??

Someone had to start it. Hate to say it, but I'd take him.

i always saw melksham as more a mid than a half-back flanker, but i know he's been earmarked as a half-back flanker. with melksham having been earmarked for the half-back flank role, does this create a greater opportunity for either grimes or lumumba to cement their spot in that defensive 6? grimes would be my preference as first cab off the rank for the role, as i'm not a huge fan of harry.

Hey guys, Just wondering how far people think McKenzie is to getting a chance in senior side? I hear his games in the VFL have been pretty good for a while now. If he was to come in who would you want to be dropped?

Excited about what I saw on Sat. Night and the news of 5 players about to return. I thought it was time now to sit down and work on my Best 22. Last year I thought it wasn't hard. This year is a totally different scenario. I have angst over a lot who were once almost walk up starters to now being fringe players. I expect a lot of Robust Conversation, but see if we can keep the personal barbs out of the thread. Everyone will have their own opinion and their own reasons. My best 22 will include all the LG for a start. Trengove, Grimes, Bartram, Frawley, Jones, Garland, Clark & Jamar (That was the easy part)...........8 Magner, Sylvia, Martin, Petterd, Green, Howe, Moloney, Sellar, & Bate ( I think they are the next walk up starters)..... 9 + 8 = 17 The remaining 5 spots is where we have a lot of competition. Couch, Nicho, Dunn, Watts, Blease, Gysberts, Jurrah, Tappy, McDonald, Bail, Davey, McKenzie, Strauss ( Form, Injury, team balance or opposition may determine who gets the nod) This is the embarrassment of riches.........13 players competing for 5 spots. That adds up to 30. Usually the top sides have about 30 competing for positions The Fringe Players:- Morton, Rivers, Davis, Fitzpatrick, Jetta, MacDonald, (Taggert, Tynan only because they need a little bit of time) The fringe players would only be used if we have a specific role needed because of injury.
