Slow learner it seems. Could be delisted before he realises he is in a professional environment. Begs the question, he probably did the same at MFC for nearly 10 pre seasons.

My sources tell me that BBO may be doing a Kurtz some time soon. He is getting [censored] in the tropical lowlands so far as we all know but his real mission is to go up river to engage the tribes and who knows what from there as he goes into the "Heart of Darkness". Oh the horror! He is a long way from Romsey that is all I will say.

Sheer luxury I say! You lucky ba*tard!

Hmmm, I notice BBO has referred to "the lads" in a number of posts and having to spend significant celebration days with them rather than family. I am getting a sense that there may be a cult operating in Romsey and that BBO may be one of their unwilling followers. God help him!

BBO flies out to Indonesia and then a terrorist warning is issued. Just a coincidence DC? I wonder.

Just a reminder that the new series of Danger 5 is on SBS 2 tomorrow night! Should be worth a look. Currently looking at the first series on SBS tonight. It is truly ridiculous, but remember to kill Hitler! Anyway it is a good break from the Game of Thrones I have had to watch for the past two weeks, while on ho Idays. What the hell is going on there, I am confused, too many kingdoms for me but it is interesting at times. Me being a history buff the whole series and books could have been based on an actual period of history and been just as entertaining without having to be fantasy but that is just my preference.

Happy New Year BBO. I too am at a loss tonight. Just walked up to Edinborough Gardens in Fitzroy hoping for a cheap night out but all I saw were coppers and security, definitely no revellers. Last year the place was trashed, not this year I think. Then walked on past the Terminus, closed, the Newry, closed, then on to my old haunt The Rose, open but only two people in the bar! Had a pot and headed home to watch the fire works later on. Not sure where all last years free loaders are going to go this year. If they can't trash Fitzroy with alcohol and drugs where will they go?

I assumed he meant Ed Zachary!

If the Paleo excludes alcohol that would explain it Redleg.

Clint, still with us? Do you have any Greenock Creek wines in that case? Stumbled on that at Greenock Creek winery some time ago and their wines were available in the Carlton Wine Cellars for a few years. But haven't had any for years, I remember the Grenache was like nectar.

It is Bruges isn't it? As in the Belgium town. Not Bruge.

Just sat through 2.5 hours of Exodus, the new film. Not sure you should bother. If like me you had the story rammed down your throat as a child, you will know the key story points so you spend the second part of the film ticking off the events. The first hour drags a bit as they try to build the Moses vs Ramases rivalry but if you like violence it maybe your go. The settings are done digitally but look at times very authentic. I have been to Mount Sinai where theb10 Commandments were first marketed and it looks very similar. I have seen the burning bush which when I was there was in good health, very green! It has recovered well and lives in Saint Catherine's Monastry in the Sinai. Long film, not sure you should bother.
  15. I think these kids will lead by example on the field. The finer points of man management and leadership will come later hopefully. That is my memory of footy, on field deeds first, then show me leadership and I will follow.
  16. Would have thought he would be double/triple tanking to get to a real, team, not MFC.
  17. If we were examining an 18 year old D Breterton I wonder what we would be saying. Undersized for a key position, not quick, can't play mid field, can't play back. Let's move on. But hold on he is a natural forward, he has heeps of mongrel and can take a contested mark and kick a goal. What do we do now? Is there some way of testing for that mental capacity to compete that the likes of Brereton, Hodge, Selwood and others have/had to get to every contest? If there is I wish we knew it because if you get one or two of those characters on your list and you are off and running.

My worry is where is BBO he seemed somewhat distraught last night. He seemed to be confused about spitting and swallowing in wine tasting and how you could work through an entire wine district and still play a round of golf. These are complex scenarios I know and I believe Clint has worked his way through this. As for me last time I toured Rutherglen I forgot to spit and was at one point what the lads used to say in my day as well and truly "fly blown" the next day!

Before a bomb blew up the No 96 bistro as I remember it. Was that the beginning of terrorism in Oz?
  21. Earl Hood replied to Redleg's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
BBO it is about whether you spit or swallow, and I am talking exclusively about wine tasting here. A true sommelier such as myself or as I am sure Demoneyes is can get through any number of wineries yet still enjoy the marvellous grape varieties and vintages of the wine district one is visiting at the time. A wine tasting tour is not to be confused with sculling beers in the back blocks in places like Blackwood!

Yes BBO I have never got South Park, poor animation and violence. If you want poor animation we can go way back to Clutch Cargo where the animated figures stayed the still but their mouths moved but for adult content I prefer Rodger Ramjet or Rocky and Bullwinkle and I could throw in King Leonardo from the Bongo Congo! Gee that is going back in time, the pinnacle of cartoon entertainment.

Are you being served, Dads Army, yes the pinnacle of British humour, I don't think. Are you free Mr Humphries and all that and they don't like it up em sir! No the pinnacle of British humour was Not Only But Also with Peter Cook and Dudley Moore but they are all dead and the early tapes have long gone but for some snippets. But sheer genius on the little that is left. Then you have some gems from Monty Python and later on Fawlty Towers
