WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MITCHELL HANNAN
Earl Hood replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Gee amazed he slipped through that far for our pick! Gee we are amazed! Just joking of course, hope he is a gun of course. -
Dee I don't think he has the necessary outside motor. That said I watched Luke Hodge this season and he looked like he was running in treacle at times but he was played as the quarter back in a good side where he had time to read the play and get to contests and played well early. In the finals where the Dawks were not controlling the mid field Hodge struggled down back. Maybe Trenners can play an inside mid role or a role off half back where he has time to read the play. He is a smart footballer held back by his lack of mobility. It is a shame and still a quandary as to where his speed went at such a young age.

Dee I thought Trenners would have being doing squats all off season to build up his glutes! Isn't that where acceleration comes from? That is what is holding him back, that inability to changeup his speed to evade a tackle, make it to a contest.

2016 Player Review - # 8 Heritier Lumumba
Earl Hood replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
WJ Heretier was concussed in round 6 April 30, Mohammed Ali died in June, there was a presser as I remember it that said he was coming to terms with Ali's passing then a club Presser said he was away from the club taking a break and they hoped he would be back toward the end of the season to resume training. I read that as code for he has taken off, not sure what he is doing but we hope he gives us a phone call later on. I remember joking that he had headed off to the Rio Olympics so really I don't think he has been at the club too often since July last year. The whole issue is clouded, no one ever saw him get concussed but now the club has been too conservative in its approach and not allowed him to play? Hmmm I reckon he had taken off in late June just a month or two after his first concussion. But we have also held him back from playing! The only thing certain is that is over but can we resolve prior to the 30 November deadline. -
2016 Player Review - # 8 Heritier Lumumba
Earl Hood replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wish he was fit and ready for this season because I think the new run and play on from the backline at all costs that was the Bulldog style this year will be emulated by all teams. Lubumba running out from the back pocket would work much better in a team plan where everyone is ready to run and make position forward of the ball carrier as well. In his first year he would run in circles looking for options from a static team with poor results obviously and not his fault. That said I personally am not convinced he has been at the club very often since last July. There was a cryptic MFC presser from Misson I think in July saying he was away from the club recuperating from his concussions and they hoped he would be back at some stage for training! To me that was code for he has disappeared but we hope he gives us a ring. I remember joking that he had taken off to Rio for the Olympics. I think someone reported that he was at the best and fairest night in September and said he was over his problems but it seems things have changed. Gut feel is you won't be seeing him playing any time soon. -

PD I think according to Ford Prefect if you ever are unfortunate enough to hear Vogon poetry that is the last thing you will ever hear or do, curtains! -

Interesting Lumumba not at training today according to MFC release. Lingering issues from his concussion earlier this season according to the release. -
I believe Doug Walters has been seen in the nets with Rod Marsh looking on!

Yes Ernest, agree, the new logo reminds me of the old Warner Brothers emblem that they used to show prior to countless old TV series. Don't like it, yes on club coffee mug but certainly not on a pure white shirt.

If he had hit the track early we would not need to give him the benefit. That is, it stops the queries. Instead we have a player who hasnt played for almost a year and hasn't yet turned up for preseason 2017. I have some worries. -
Jesse are you being expecting to be deported from Philidelphia to Mexico by the Donald? adios

In our era dominated by reality TV, where facts are not important and with the rise of the "celebrity", that is those who are famous for just being famous, I suppose it is envitable that you end up Trumped!

The NBN system equivalent would be in place at least in the major cities and regional areas before now if we hadn't privatised Telstra in my humble opinion and at less cost.

And may pre season be injury free please! -
Mono did you prefer King Corkey or Uncle Norman as host? By the way I still think it a scandal that Professor Ratbaggy was not recognised for his contributions to science at the time! Oh and Ron Barrassi did a footy segment for kids, I still have a memory of him nuggetting his footy boots, stating that even if you can't play footy at least make sure you look like one, clean boots, shorts, jumper tucked in etc.

WJ you are mixing up your Orwells there. Careful you could end up in the Ministry of Love and room 101!

It seems the developers are now going to rebuild the old hotel after a massive public backlash. Gee it is amazing the impact our Demondland campaign has had! Just goes to show the power of Demonland when we work together.

I am worried it might spontaneously catch fire making the building a danger to the public and then needing to be demolished immediately. That would incidentedly lead to an increase in the value of the site. It's happened before apparently. If I was Biff I would be checking the batteries in my smoke detector.

I like your thinking DV. Perhaps mounted backward on donkeys and hauled through the streets at the back end of the Moomba Parade? The rogues gallery would be drawn from ACA's car park pursuits of dodgey pool salesmen, car salesmen and let's now include our dodgey developers. By the way where is ACA and Tracey Grimshaw when we need to track down these developers? They are still invisible.
