Well picked Jazza. Zeppo was a not just an actor, but a theatre agent, engineer, inventor, company owner and multi millionaire capitalist. As is well documented Karl was a lousy father and husband and relied on Engels for charity to keep investigating his theories. And Gummo was no chump either. Talented lot the Marx's!
  2. Short memory. Neitz was no plodder compared to anyone. He wasn't the absolute best but gee wouldn't we love him in the team these days.

With all respect bj. The issue here for me is how we got to talking about bananas. DC and myself were happily discussing Alexander Downer's Indian odyssey or was that another Alexander, anyway that doesn't matter, then DFrog takes over the night shift from WA and starts talking about Chinese bananas! I think the main issue here is we are not doing proper handovers to the night shift in WA. I used to have this problem at work when I worked in operations. Shift change overs are all important. Of course no matter what we do it may all be wasted on DeeFrog. He does seem obsessed with bananas.

Alexander Downer, didn't know he had a posting to India, thought he was High Commissioner in London or something.

Yes I agree BBO I expect this is how it does take place for the aspirational classes who are apt to get ahead of themselve at times. Of course I leave these things to my best man who deals with the Bentley chap whenever there is a model upgrade. I personally prefer to not have lunches with these types but I understand your situation is different, what with being stuck up in the back blocks of Romsey.

But he wrote of his utter dispare watching at the MCG as Jimmy Stynes inadvertently ran through the mark in 1987 in the prelim final against Hawthorn at Waverley! OK not exactly sure how he did that but we are talking about the Human Headline.

Have we established whether that was BBO on the tele last night with his shirt off, and plenty of flesh, after we kicked the winning goal?
  10. Rising star nomination chance maybe? Nah probably go to a young mid who piles up 20 odd possessions in a big win.

Red not sure what the weather has to do with the likes of BBO or The Biff coming into inner Melbourne for this game. It won't matter if its raining if they decide to trash some place they might deem to have Tiger sympathies.

Madame Sousou's I presume BBO? That would explain all the repairs going on this morning when I dropped in for my morning latte. Did you take the lads for a posh night out on the town?

Off to the Gee to watch the Dorks vs Cats in the members. Not sure why I accepted the invitation and then found they all want to get there at 1.30, two hours before the game! I'll be pizzled before the first bounce. I could get evicted if I start abusing Clark when he takes a mark and then Frawley when he spoils Mitch and dont start me on Rivers. Things could turn ugly.
  16. Macca, thanks for that, it reminds me so much of an early George Benson, brings back a lot of great memories of the 70's and early 80's when I was in my prime. Life seemed so simple back then, you could just lay back and listen to this guitar music for hours without a worry in the world then call up a few mates and head out for a big night. Doesn't happen these days.

I will keep a look out for a Day of the Dead tee shirt at the Gee. But if we lose "Don't Blame Me!"

Hardtrack doing the 1030 am seconds match at Olympic Park but not the ones at the Gee? I would love to be at Olympic for Casey but had been pre-booked for a brunch unfortunately. Oh well.

I am going and hoping to take along my 14 year old niece who has just arrived from Egypt. She lived with us for a year several years ago and back then we went to every home game but she has never seen us win a match. How bad is that? Very hard to get her attention for tomorrow, she remembers our last game together where we both got drenched in the rain sitting with the cheer squad watching MFC lose yet again For the record as well, my bespoke tailor requestes payment for his services! Apparently this is a problem for BBO who expects it is more payment and enough to be a model and walking advertisement for anything my tailor produces.

Well we have Ben running all over the place, Flatline Fletcher who nearly died on a hospital table in the USA and Daniel Kerr with retraining orders and suspicions of starting fires etc. Really the 2006 flag is tainted. In how many games were WCE players hyped to the eyeballs? I remember that year they made some remarkable second half or actually last quarter comebacks to win matches that got them to top 2. Funny thing is the Chemist never saw a thing! Strange really.

Interesting viewing DFrog. I am surprised at the upbeat, joyous nature of life with bananas as portrayed here by the industry especially given the dire state of the banana industry that we face. The Canarvon crops have been smashed. Queensland faces the Panama disease. There is only my neighbours banana crop down on the Surf Coast left unscathed. These are dark times for bananas. Grab a banana smoothly while you can I say.

I had this match penciled in as I work across the road from the ground but just realised it is my wedding anniversary! No chance now.

RL are you referring to old wino's with bottles masked in brown paper bags or a place where grapes are grown, picked, processed, stored until ready to be decanted as wine? I have seen plenty of the former in Richmond but not the latter unless you are referring to the Chateau Royal Oak?
  24. Earl Hood replied to Redleg's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
RL It could be Kellybrook Winery in Wonga Park. Can't think of a closer one. They make wine from apples I think and cider. Can't vouch for the wines but the food is good and the restaurant is in a very pleasant setting.
