Tripe. Two weeks ago you thought we could win a flag and now no one is any good? I know being a Melbourne supporter is hard sometimes but this is taking it to extremes of pessimism and unnecessary criticism.

Mate I think you are being a bit sensitive. Our field kicking on the whole was pretty bad, it was amazing some of the floaters I saw today even hit targets but Bruce was amongst the worst offenders. Yes, probably because he got the ball more than some of his team mates. Not Bruceys fault either he is constantly lauded in the media as one of the games elite and therefore draws ire from supporters. I simply want the gap between his good and bad to close. He had a brilliant first quarter today but then went missing for the next two quarters.

And in fact three of Franklins goals were a direct result of Melbourne defensive errors (not Carrolls'). I know that doesn't help the cause in arguing a Melbourne victory but lets not give Franklin too much credit. He would need a couple of Melbourne players to go down injured during the course of the game to kick 6.

That is a good point. We seemed to be laid bare as though StKilda new what was coming and we played straight into their hands. The loss of McLean and Wheels took a real edge off us also IMO.

I did the same for the first time!! To see a Melbourne side which is actually rated as having some ability play such inept football makes me weep and I just couldn't take it any more. If this is repeated again in coming weeks it could be devasting for the club in terms of support and respect from the football community.

I read about Geoff today. Sorry to hear you have lost an acquiantance TonyMelb and naturally commiserations to Geoffs' family. Obviously Geoff was a sturdy character supporting Melbourne and living in Essendon! We will all have to barack a little harder Friday night.

Not answering on behalf of Rhino, but unless we know for a fact that the objective will be to go out and win by as much as possible (unlikely) then the result is irrelevant as long as the players are playing as they are instructed. It is a practice match. The theory of practicing winning put forward by some posters is baloney IMO.

Saw Godders on Sunday doing a good job of staying upright considering he was on crutches and with cast on his lower right arm.

Nah! He's not that big (I've stood next to him). The lack of hair makes him look heavy. He is just well muscled. If he loses that he will be pushed off the ball.
