  1. Beaten early, played better in the 2nd half. Needs a rest suggests he may be tired and need a freshen up before finals, similar to Viney and Gawn. He’s a kid who would have learnt a lot from one of the best. When Hibberd last played was shown up by Rohan.
  2. McVee yes but Bowey and Rivers are premiership players, Rivers confidence has gone to a new level this year. He (Smith) will also have May, Lever and Salem around him. End of the day we know what we get with Tomlinson, can’t hurt to try Smith over the next month.
  3. To be fair he’s only played 36 games, and a number of them as the sub.
  4. The game is at Marvel and even though it’s 2 weeks away I think the Lions will be a massive chance.
  5. Probably only Larkey and have a ruck rotate through. Regardless, we should keep our structures if we’re not looking to rest players. One of the keys of our teams is our players versatility.
  6. I’m happy with that, I just wouldn’t be bringing in Hibberd for a tall or McVee.
  7. Just because Smith has played well being used as the sub doesn’t mean he shouldn’t get an opportunity to play a whole game. If any player makes our team as little as 1% better they should be playing. Was Hibberd’s last game against the Cats? He didn’t play well that night, plus earlier in the year when we just went with May and Lever as the two talls they weren’t at their best, our system and players work better with two kpd plus Lever. For mine Hibberd to miss and we need to make a call on CHB, either persist with Thommo or give the last 4 games to Smith.
  8. This isn’t cheesy, this should be belted out in the change rooms before every game then again after we win the premiership. And what a great movie!
  9. I was thinking more Bound for Glory.
  10. No idea mate, just throwing it out there.
  11. Do we know whether their doctor was overruled?
  12. My Pie supporting mate says he heard / read an interview with Graham Wright, he apparently said that should Grundy be traded that they are no longer responsible for part of his wage. Citing their deal was with Melbourne not a third party. I wouldn’t have thought it mattered. Do the Pies have a case on a technicality in his contract?
  13. If we’re serious about winning the flag the timing of a Buddy lap of honour is a non issue.
  14. So now we get to hear about Nick Daicos for the next ten years.
  15. Melksham and Fritsch makes me think of Gunston and Bruest.
  16. On a side note Petty contracted until 2025 (will be 25) JVR contracted until 2025 (will be 22) BBB & TMac 2024 and if Grundy goes that’s a lot of cap space freed up to look for another key defender.
  17. Agree to disagree, didn’t read any comment in the pre game thread that had Petty kicking a bag. I’m glad that he did. I just find it childish when people want to carry on with their “to those who doubted…..”, footy’s an emotional game. I was wrong and I’m happy I was.
  18. I can put my hand up as being in that camp, but to be fair no one saw this coming. Nothing he’d done playing fwd this year gave any indication he had a game like that in him.
  19. You’re drenched, I’m jealous, would of loved to have been there.
  20. Technically no, I’d like Melksham to stay in when Fritsch returns.
  21. Agree with everything Uncle, however his 5 goals against Geelong in the 2021 prelim was also up there.
  22. Said in the 1st qtr I was wrong, didn’t see that coming. But what a game, after a couple of Turkey’s he took me back to the days of Neita.
  23. The back foot from Angus. love it!
  24. Put Kosi back in the middle, need to try and win clearances then set up behind it.
