A Day at the Races
Spot on Macca in regards to superstitions, I don't mind the occasional soccer multi and I find I have more luck when I decide to sleep and scroll through the scores the following morning compared to staying up and watching games live.

A Day at the Races
I hope so too, I just scrolled up to read Maccas post on his tips for the race. Nice dividend....

A Day at the Races
Good work Wadda on the quaddie with only a 4 dollar investment and a one out in the last leg. A win is a win mate, I can't remember the last time I got close to winning a quaddie.

A Day at the Races
Not a bad run setting the pace, found a few better today the Zephyr, almost held 3rd.

A Day at the Races
No pre race update so far on the Zephyr, trainer might be getting a bit lazy. Let's hope for an overdue victory.

A Day at the Races
I don't know much about this hockey apart from the fact the horse will carry 52kg after the claim. Some of the connections seem happy that Rhys McLeod isn't taking the ride though.

A Day at the Races
Hi Wadda, whilst we wait for the latest my mate thinks he's a decent chance. Although one of his best wins came at this track his overall record at Caulfield is pretty average to say the least so that's a concern. Dan should return to his usual racing pattern today of being on pace after the good draw. Good each way odds at the moment but when a horse hasn't won for a long time it's hard to back it with any confidence.

2018 Membership Thread
I received the memberships for my wife and 3 kids today. Back in October I spoke to a real person on the phone from the membership department to request which player pictures I would like on their membership. They had some new names available for next year and a couple of them were the kids favourite players so I thought I would surprise them for Xmas as part of their gifts. The cards arrived minus the players pictures, just some plain old cards. How hard is it to get this right?

A Day at the Races
DemonlANd Zephyr has accepted for race 7 Caulfield tomorrow. Finally received some luck with the barriers drawing 1. Mitchell Aitken has been booked for the ride, the horse comes in at 55kg but after the claim will carry 52kg. Its been over a year since he has saluted, hopefully a bit of luck comes his way. Will update further later tonight or tomorrow to see how the Zephyr is travelling.

I think you received my scarf, I didn't get any with my pack. Did you also receive your sons membership today? There's 5 of us signed up in this household but I was the only one to get a pack.

A Day at the Races
Epic Macca! Northerly looked gone before the bend as Sunline found another gear and what a cracking run by the then 3yr old Viscount....then the protest drama. Cheers for the memories mate!

A Day at the Races
Hong Kong provides some great racing at this time of the year and one of the most memorable and thrilling finishes I have ever seen happened back in December of 2000. https://youtu.be/RJ3V1Ht9dW0

Should have gone with you Macca....what a run!

So true mate!

A Day at the Races
Wadda, that's exactly how I saw the race. Jockey seemed a bit confused around the bend and ended up on the backside of 3 runners, there was clearly a run as you said on the inside provided by the winner.

A Day at the Races
I like the formula Wadda, he was $10 all day yesterday. Connections think he's a chance, track condition being the big worry. In saying that, he is 2 wins and two placings from 4 at the track. Both starts at this track over this distance he has run 3rd. Due to the emotional connection for the horse I'll always have a little something on him each time he races, his best is probably past him but he could surprise today from the rear. I won't be going crazy on him. Gosh, I've harped on about him lately, we must get him as the Demonland mascot when he retires. Probably a good thing he's been running during this off season, its made me forget about the end of season debacle a tad.

A Day at the Races
Received a text about the Zephyr a short time ago and it goes a little something like this. Pat Carey has decided to run the horse tomorrow. They view the wide barrier as an opportunity to alter his racing pattern for the race. They will ride the horse cold and see if he can run on, only once has he raced at the back of the field and although not by choice that day the horse rattled home for a close third. The track is a concern but apparently Pakenham has a really good drainage system in place and the track should dry up a bit.

A Day at the Races
Looks a tough race to pick Macca, I like Tom Melbourne again and will stick with him. Looking at the link I noticed 6 out of the last 10 Classics have been won by favourites and only 2 in double figure odds. I don't base my selections on past runnings but I do find the history of past races interesting.

A Day at the Races
Sorry mate, forgot to get back to you on that as I was between watching the boys train this morning and fighting a losing battle with a 3 and 9 year old at Goschs. They have avoided soft to heavy tracks in the past but he's ran a second out of two starts on the soft. No heavy runs to date. The decision on whether they scratch him will be based on the condition of the track, barrier also an issue.

A Day at the Races
I like it Wadda, I will suggest it to the syndicate manager.

A Day at the Races
Dan Zephyr in his old winning colours. I asked my friend to send me one and he sends me this, I could've gone on google myself.

A Day at the Races
Spoke to mate yesterday and they might scratch the horse again. If they go ahead with the scratching he will have a jump out on Monday to keep him ticking over and race at Caulfield next Saturday. I also like De Little Engine for the cup Wadda. Great run last time.

A Day at the Races
The Zephyr has accepted for the 1400m Gold Bullion but once again has drawn the car park. Barrier 16 from 16, no luck with the barriers at the moment. Looks like a very tricky race and quite tough to win it. Scroll to race 8 to check out the early form. http://racingaustralia.horse/FreeFields/Acceptances.aspx?Key=2017Dec09,VIC,Racing.com Park
