  1. Foxtel showed some footage on AFL Tonight a short time ago of Viney, TMac and Vandenberg from Goschs this morning. The footage showed Viney and TMac in runners.
  2. Yes, spot on, a guaranteed seat anywhere in the allocated area. Passes or at least the info on how to access the pass will be emailed out closer to the game.
  3. Love the NHL, no Blackhawks this post-season. Looking forward to the Maple Leafs v Boston series. Maple Leafs owe them big time from a few years ago.
  4. Spoke to the club a short time ago, the $10 upgrade for premium seats is a pass to get into the Level 1 (wing) area, not a reserved seat if anyone was wondering. If anyone plans to take this offer it’s best to ring the club to get multiple tickets as processing it online will require you to purchase upgrades one membership card at a time which will probably cause headaches.
  5. Going early fellas. Best Bet: Randwick Race 8 No.1 Almandin. Currently $4.20 with TAB, hoping the “Class” factor gets him home. Tricky fields once again and found it hard to identify a standout. Dan Zephyr returns. Caulfield Race8 No.9 Connections were happy with the way the horse hit the line last start. Can’t draw a barrier to save its life, drawing wide (12) again. Last night odds for Dan showed $51, into $41 this morning. Maybe the plunge came on the back of a humorous twist. The horse hasn’t won for 17 runs, yes folks, a 17 run losing streak, sound familiar? “Nobody beats the Zephyr 18 times in a row”.
  6. Salem to run with Mitchell and Hawthorn jumpers to remain looking like poo.
  7. Interesting, I saw Gus getting held onto off the ball and at stoppages early in the game a couple of times and I automatically thought he was the one getting tagged. Thanks for clarifying PD.
  8. Training was listed for tomorrow but the MFC site states the open session for tomorrow has changed to a closed one at another venue.
  9. It could well be @DV8, it was moments like that where one goes “wow, I wasn’t expecting that”. The other big “wow” was Petty, but still early days for him.
  10. Was that the Pure Footy hour on SEN today DD? I’m not sure what his name is but he went on and talked about quantity ( forward entries) vs quality ( scoring from forward entries). Please correct me if I heard wrong, he stated that Richmond and us are standouts in this stat so far. We both rank in the top 4-5 in the comp. He also made a mention about our forward structure, how we like to mix it up and cause opposition defenders to second guess themselves. For example, Hogan up the ground, Trac deep, then change it when Trac goes in the middle and Hogan goes deep again. Kind of a revolving forward line. He said there’s no right or wrong with a system like this and he compared it to Adelaide where their set-up is almost always Walker, Jenkins and Betts as forwards. In regards to our forward pressure it was interesting to hear that Pedersen was ranked as elite in the first two weeks along with Garlett. Fritch also rated highly in that aspect. Apologies if this has been posted already or not belonging in this thread. It was interesting listening nonetheless.
  11. From what I observed PD he moved well. I might have even posted during the match that he crumbed a ball of the deck and instinctively used his left foot and hit a teammate in the goal square with a 40 metre bullet of a pass. If he possesses traits like this he might just develop nicely.
  12. Agree, we should try and limit his effectiveness forward of centre, don’t allow him to kick 2-3 goals like Geelong did.
  13. They should gaffer tape a couple of IPhones to the posts, much better clarity than the crap they use now.
  14. Good points on Melksham, he’s been far from terrible. It’s all a guessing game at the moment, Coburg was very weak and maybe Goody walked away with some more headaches in regards to selection. The senior players did what they should be doing to a team like that.
  15. Was just about to post something similar but not for Bugg. After watching Casey on the weekend, Hunt’s game didn’t scream out of automatic inclusion but the pleasing thing was he was willing to do the team things. With ball in hand he wasn’t influential but his tackling and chases were first rate. If we want speed he’s the man this week. Gus is another that should be very close, much better in the second half and his ability to stay focused and break the tag ( a very heavy one mind you) was impressive. His class on both sides of the body was evident in the second half. In saying that, I still have no clue who to omit. Melksham if anyone.
  16. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Anyone?
  17. Another game where we found ourselves down by 4-5 goals at quarter time. Hunt’s move to the forward line sparked a comeback with a couple of goals in the second quarter but it ended with the usual heartbreak.
  18. North were fancied by many as bottom 2 but after watching the replay, North actually played well against us yet we walked away with a 6 goal win. From what we have seen so far there are teams that have displayed far worse performances than North. Still early and all that but our win yesterday was better than I first thought, IMO.
  19. Did anyone just hear a ping over in the West?
  20. Can’t really add to the reports above in regards to the regulars but I was keen to see some of the new boys and here are some observations. Balic: Doesn’t look like the smoothest of movers but put himself in the right spots most of the time. His mark in the last was a beauty and his game today was basically telling Goody “ Look at me coach, look at me”. Spargo: Not much of him but was involved a lot in general play. Nice user of the ball, showed football smarts and seemed to have a decent tank on him. Baker: Has an instinct of just going as soon as he gets the ball but can develop into a more than useful outside runner. Started to lower his eyes as the game went on. Petty: The pick of the bunch from what I saw today. As stated previously, the defence didn’t need to do a lot but two passages of play stood out. He beat an opponent in an aerial one on one by bringing the ball to ground, followed up and with surprising speed left his opponent for dead and hit a teammate on the chest 40 metres down the field with his left foot. In another marking contest with several players contesting, he spoiled the ball, split the pack and was the only one standing. Picked up the ball and hit JKH on the chest again down the field without breaking stride. There’s just something to like about this kid. Great balance and very composed. A lot of things don’t get noticed on the footy field but I liked what I saw and heard from the Weid. There were little spotfires in the 4th quarter in the centre square and King wanted to wrestle a Coburg player through the turf. Weid yelled out from inside our 50 to King to cut the crap and go contest the ball-up. I enjoyed that.
  21. Opposition is ordinary and some players have been good statistically but Petty for mine looks like a very good recruit. Defence hasn’t been troubled really, but he’s won the one on ones, can turn on a 20 cent piece for a tall kid and uses the ball well with both feet.
  22. Actually, van is still here, hiding behind a shed now.
  23. Truck has left the building. On the way back to Cranbourne.
  24. Gus worked into the game in the latter part of the second quarter but I don’t think he has been the best mid. He’s getting held and scragged a lot though.
