  1. Exactly. You just have to look at what Daniher did and more importantly didn't do.
  2. Second (pipped) in the half-time Grand Final Sprint. I've been a fan of his since his debut (never saw him for Sandy) but the fact that he has genuine pace just adds another string to his bow. EDIT: Sorry, didn't see other thread.
  3. I remember watching it a couple of years ago, but I had to stop after what that weak thug Long did to Simmonds because I was just so angry.
  4. Is a gun. Underrated. Unfortunately people here rate players who turn the ball over in the middle of the ground by handpassing and chipping backwards and sideways ahead of those who occasionally turn the ball over trying to create good opportunities for forwards in the forward line.
  5. There are three reasons why people buy the Herald Sun. 1. They like pretty pictures and can't read. 2. They believe celebrity/sportsperson gossip constitutes "news". 3. They like pretty pictures and can't read.
  6. The last time Melbourne went for someone "tough" they got Molan.
  7. Rivers could be very damaging up forward.
  8. Keep. Move to CHF.
  9. So he should be. I still prefer Valenti, but I don't think Jones is that bad.
  10. Jones has actually slimmed down, not that he was ever all that big.
  11. Emphasis on the future team. FB: Whelan Warnock Garland HB: Petterd Martin Grimes C: Morton Moloney Green HF: Sylvia Rivers Davey FF: Wonaeamirri Miller Maric Foll: PJ McLean Valenti Int: Jamar Buckley Bate No.1 draft pick Emergency: Jones Dunn Newton EDIT: Emergencies changed.
  12. Didn't you say Naitanui is your cousin? Have you spoken to him about the possibility of him coming to Melbourne?
  13. He's too slow like Valenti and his ruck work is about as good as Paul Johnson's.
  14. You've got to have the white border. Whoever first did it is a genius... I actually prefer the jumper without the blue on the sides. But either way it's still awesome.
  15. I was watching Dunn's first game on the Bigpond site, it was against Geelong in '06 and he had a few bursts here and there where he was all over Milburn. He took some good marks, was leading well and kicked some nice goals. I still think his best position is in the forward line.
  16. Or if you have enough players in your forward line.
  17. Franklin hasn't kicked 100+ goals running back into an open forward line.
  18. If West Coast, the Gold Coast or Fremantle sold their naming rights then maybe it wouldn't have an adverse effect on these clubs. Purely because they are so young (however still unlikely), but Melbourne of all clubs which is rich in history and tradition would not withstand such a change. Nor would the supporters. "Melbourne" is without doubt the best name in football. It is the name that means the most to football and it's just about the only thing (along with a tall Irishman) that is keeping this club alive.
  19. To be a Bronze Sponsor? It is the lowest membership level they have. If Melbourne sold their naming rights the club would lose money than it would gain.
  20. On a side note, does anyone know how much a sponsor pays to be a 'Bronze Sponsor'?
  21. Even in Melbourne's better years they don't seem to have any players make the team (Farmer was the only player to make it in 2000). McDonald was the last player in 2006.
  22. The day that Melbourne put players in their own forward line to play as defenders and not scorers is the day I stop watching football. What a crock.
  23. The big improvers Paul Johnson: Has the best hitout-to-advantage of any of the Demons' three ruckmen.
  24. Don't forget the coach Nasher.
