Time to bring back this beauty from a few years ago:
-
I saw Sylvia put more effort into shaking the hands of the opposition than he did playing football tonight.
-
Morton. He went to clean his underwear after Jetta almost tackled him.
-
I would say that on average Sydney players have run 50% further than Melbourne players, on top of that their sprinting numbers would be well up above Melbourne too. It's not fitness, it's laziness and conscious thinking by Melbourne players not to run (and by run I mean sprint) because they have not done it since the ball was first bounced.
-
The problem is the "modern game" will have changed again in six months time. The club needs to have strategies and tactics that suit the players we do have, no matter how rubbish they may be, we can only turn over a certain number of players each week.
-
He tried to play-on and take the advantage when Magner had a free kick and there was absolutely no advantage.
-
Oh good, Bartram is playing on Reid. Perfect match-up.
-
I'm nominating myself for worst call of the year for thinking Melbourne could win tonight.
-
At least Howe has won something.
-
Two Melbourne players go for the ball, no one stays on the ground. Jetta kicks a goal. EDIT: It was Garland, why am I not surprised?
-
No one on the goal line? Seriously, do we need to tell our players to put their hands up when standing the mark too?
-
I just spewed.
-
If I see Trengove bump another player well after the player has disposed of the ball (becuase Trengove is too slow to get to him before hand) I will spew up.
-
Melbourne players refuse to sprint. I saw Bartram consciously go up a gear chasing Dennis-Lane, only because he had to, before that he was running half-paced. His only gear should be his top gear.
-
Morton just soiled his pants when the big bad Lewis Jetta came within two metres of him. Soft.
-
No one seems to be playing on Jack, Melbourne just look slow and lazy.
-
Brock Trengove needs to work on his acceleration!
-
The forward line looks much better, the midfield needs to at least break even if Melbourne are to win.
-
Sam Reid has only kicked four goals so far this year (gross underachievement), hopefully this trend continues because he potentially can be very damaging. Lewis Jetta may also be a problem if given too much space.
-
The players will probably wear a jumper without the box from now on. WebJet would have been consulted with regards to how the jumper looks, the box around the logo doesn't make it stand out any more (see below), therefore it is just a waste of space. I'm glad to see that we have a jumper where you can actually see the shape of the main feature clearly (the red yolk).
-
I'm tipping Melbourne this week to win.
-
It changes just about every six months after a few weeks of a team trying something slightly new with a bit of success.
-
It's a form slump, the current kick the ball along the boundary doesn't suit his play, but as the team gets more confidence and dare to take some risks Bail will become an asset. I'm sticking fat with Bail.
-
I realise that Essendon and have had their share of injuries but I like how they and Adelaide locked their players in the gym so that they were all bigger and stronger. Too many Melbourne players (old and young) lack muscle definition.

Box Hill Hawks v Casey Scorpions
Straight Sets Simon replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
His wrist looked fairly heavily strapped so I would say he probably doesn't have the full confidence to take a big mark yet.
