If we win today we will move up to 13th on the ladder, but will still be three wins outside the eight sadly.

Australian Rules football looked unique becuase there there are a lot of unique things about it, the main one being a lack of an offside rule. However, since about 2007 when teams started moving their forwards up to the oppositions forward line (only to run back again) it has started to look more like the sports which do have an offside rule. Sadly, all AFL coaches are sheep and despite the fact that keeping players forward of the ball is still an extremely effective tactic (I would say the most effective) no one is willing to take the risk. -
Another one? This is the only one you ever talk about.

What we got for Frawley refracted what the Hawks pay him.

No team should get that many Friday night games, no matter how good they are. That's the issue.

With such a big soccer game on at the MCG right now this game is exactly the last thing the AFL needs right now.

Just then, Carlton had the ball on the half forward line, kicked it sideways (they had the ball for a long time) and then Buckley finally got the ball and kicked it long to the goal square, however the only players there were three Hawks. Why do coaches allow their forwards to push so far up the ground? Do they not want their forwards to kick goals? It wasn't as if Carlton didn't have time to get back, this is exactly what is wrong with football today.

I've been saying this since 2007 but I think it's actually detrimental to performance that so many players follow the ball around. -
This. If we didn't blow our draft picks from 2008 until 2012 we would be pushing for the top four now.

I've always been a strong advocate for equalisation but the reality is the only way to really even up the competition would be to go back to twelve teams and 22 rounds. Each teams plays each other twice and the talent pool would be far stronger than it is now.

I called it during the game. Garlett and Tyson were the worst offenders I thought. -

Terrible win, very few positives. The worst part for me was how Melbourne were so slow to turn around when they had the ball and when we did get the ball forward too many players got too cute. Especially Hogan, Tyson and Garlett. Again, the loose men hurt us, it's just Brisbane were too poor to capitalise. The best player on the ground for mine was Lewis Taylor.
