  1. I'd be shocked if this happened again.
  2. Someone would have picked Lever up before us.
  3. The gamble is going into the next two drafts without a first round pick (assuming we don't pick any up in trades before then).
  4. It's a huge gamble because there are other areas in our list that need improving more than the defensive half. I realise that Plugger will now play forward, but that still leaves us with O. McDonald and Frost down back as well.
  5. I think it's a huge gamble but we may trade our way back into the draft by the end of the trade period so I'll wait until then to fully judge.
  6. Lever would want to be good for us. Huge gamble.
  7. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that every coach ever has or had the same focus.
  8. No it's not, you can trade for contracted players. Everyone and every team has a price.
  9. You can trade for any player.
  10. Even still, we need midfielders more than we need Lever.
  11. We have three tall defenders in the McDonald's and Frost (plus Hibberd and Jetta as stalwarts down back) and we are looking at giving up the farm for another? Don't get me wrong, Lever is a gun but I'd much rather we go after another midfielder or simply use the draft picks in the draft.
  12. Adelaide will expect a gun player in return. I doubt pick 10 and ANB will be enough for them.
  13. Don't worry about his salary, what it is we will have to trade to get him is the big question.
  14. Lever is a gun but I'd much rather keep the McDonald's and Frost, and use that salary cap and trade options for a classy midfielder.
  15. Thread of the year.
  16. Plus Grimes and Simon Buckley.
  17. St Kilda will most likely want a player like Oliver, Brayshaw or Petracca in return as part of a trade.
  18. It does explain why Judd, Franklin and Pendlebury were all so keen to come to Melbourne.
  19. I've just become so used to his dominance that even I overlook how good he is each week.
  20. Easily his best game for the club, when he put his head over the ball in the last quarter that was huge in us winning.
  21. When they listed Coniglio to justify his selection they listed his stats and Oliver's blew his out of the water in every way.
  22. Hogan is a two to four goal a game forward. The others are three to six goal a game forwards.
  23. For someone who had such good skills his skills are terrible. He also panics when under pressure horribly. I'd put him on a half forward flank.
  24. Our zone needs to be adaptable so that a player like Frost can be permanently on an opponent like Ben Brown, how Jetta was left to cover him so many times is bewildering.
