This is true, however we are also hitting more targets because there are more targets to hit and players are able to do so under less pressure. Lewis is a great example of this. When he has time and space he is deadly but under pressure he tends to struggle.

I think there have been a few key structural changes that have had huge flow-on effects. Three key forward marking options who can all push up the ground (Hogan, McDonald and Weideman/Smith) Brayshaw into the guts Fritsch up to a wing I also feel like we get far less crowded around the contest so have more options on the outside and less handballing in circles.

This is where it is tough for the AFL, you want the best games shown in prime time and not just the biggest teams because as we know when you are financially poor club, getting the Sunday afternoon game every week doesn't help you grow. Carlton getting so many prime time games is just mind-boggling. No team (let alone one as poor as them) deserve so many Friday night games.

Having said all that the AFL does need to stay on top of things, in particular the congestion around the ball which can ruin games. Ironically Melbourne are playing an open style of game which is not only great to watch but devastatingly effective.

Soccer has big participation for a lot of reasons but the A-League will never even come close to competing with the AFL.

The Broncos pretty much get every Thursday or Friday game which helps a lot.

Our first two draft picks last year were 29 (Spargo) and 31 (Fritsch) and both are already getting regular games in their first season. That's what I call good drafting.

I just really loved the fact that for a large portion of the last quarter Adelaide were out-playing us and we had every right to take the foot off the pedal and coast to a seven goal win, but we stuck at it and kept our incredible 18 quarter winning streak going.
