  1. You go on ignore after this, a discussion is not where you say a persons opinion is completely incorrect and yours is right
  2. It was to ensure the players/coaches and support staff had a break before Maroochydoor, from what I have been told it ain't gonna be a holiday
  3. I haven't read what Wiseblood posted, I'm over his contributions and going to put him on ignore Correct, this is what I said, but the 'experts' on here whose sole purpose seems to be to pick fights so they can demonstrate their superior football knowledge decided to run with it And as I put in my post, doesn't matter who Goodwin picks it will not please everybody, the good thing is it won't concern Goodwin in the least
  4. As I have stated many times if the player feels even the slightest twinge they report it, Trac may have felt something session over
  5. Any decision that doesn't achieve the desired outcome can be categorized as questionable That's why there are so many hindsight experts, paricularly in the footy environment Also why not many are brave, or foolish enough, to take on a senior AFL coaching role Paul Roos used to get a prodigious amount of email coaching and selection tips from these experts Imagine if he had actually listened He also told me if he picked 15 different teams one weekend, he still wouldn't please everyone Examples Weed and Hogan had been training most the pre season and it was hoped they would form a good partnership in 2017, Pedo was still remodelling himself into the Lean Machine we see today, so Weed was preferred, it didn't work, shock horror, move on JKH was tearing up the VFL, he got a chance and not only told me but the Club Website he had let himself, the other players and the coaches down with his performances, shock horror, it didn't work, move on I know Ben Kennedy had some deficiencies in his game that he couldn't fix, hence no games and delisting Who would have picked Hannan to debut and play so many games, a guy who had gone VAFA/VFL/AFL in three seasons, don't remember seeing him in many pre season best 22 that the experts nominated, was the decision to play him questionable at the time? Or an inspired decision in hindsight. You could fill a topic with pages to rival the Jack Watts traded topic on coaching selections that have either worked or not worked over the lastx10 years, with each expert offering up different opinions, nobody is right or wrong, just a different take or view on each decision and why it was taken
  6. Again an opinion, everbody is entitled to them
  7. If you want to believe the 'favourites angle that's your right, it doesn't mean it's the correct opinion
  8. DJ decided to fight a tackle from Jeff Garlett in a drill, Jeff buried him a bit too vigorously
  9. Please, Joel Smith was/is highly rated by the FD, he looked ready to go at training Speaking to the players (which I do), Goodwin means it, it's not hot air, you will be fit, in form and playing your role to a high standard That's why training is impressing the non regular watchers, every player knows they have to be in team Rd 1 or it is going to be a long season Goodwin now has the depth of talent to do this If you want to go the other way Frost's form slipped alarmingly, he was dropped
  10. Yes he did, if you are talking Viney, you don't know Viney, I jokingly call him the Black Knight (from Monty Python) There were also a couple of instances where guys were tearing it up at Casey but didn't translate to AFL when brought in Suspensions didn't help either
  11. If everything goes right on rehab front, only one missing when season starts is AVB From training sessions, like the midfield pick a starting 6 from this Hogan, Tommy Mc, Garlett, Hannan, Pedo, ANB, Kent, Bugg, Melksham, Tim Smith, JKH, DJ, Spargo, Fritsch they all bring something different and at the moment are all fit
  12. Hunt is another that ticks off sessions without standing out, on craft days they have him running and bouncing thru the middle of the ground and delivering to a forward The drill he does stand out in is the one I mentioned where the defenders launch torps from goal square, he regularly makes the centre bounce circle or further
  13. I never bother now coz Goodwin will pick a fully fit and in form 22 each week, if we get everbody up and running Jade Rawlings will be licking his lips at the talent he will have at his disposal each week at Casey
  14. A bit of a comparison to live up to, he is one of those who seems to float around the ground and bob up not where expected, just good game awareness and good in the air
  15. Harmes is getting better and better, has the self belief after all the games last year, really fit and strong, loves the inside work
  16. Agree, think this is the role Pedo is chasing, on the bench as the rotating forward
  17. They are mixing it up at training, they have Salem and Harmes extracting with Oliver and Trac on the outside etc etc, think they are looking at having midfielders that can mix it up
  18. My rating of the new guys Baker natural footballer, just needs the engine Spargo fast, great kick and a tough little bugger Fritsch would not surprise to debut early but has a lot on competition, reads the ball beautifully Petty amazing vertical leap, built like a stick at the moment, another who reads the ball well
  19. Correct Tyson was 4th, the competition for midfield spots is going to be fierce, Tyson is finally over knee issues and is another one who is fitter than ever, again his words Sort a starting midfield out of those who are training with the midfield group during the presason Jones, Tyson, Petracca, Oliver, Salem, Brayshaw, Harmes, Stretch, Maynard, Baker Viney And those that can rotate thru there Lewis, Vince, Hogan, ANB, Bugg, Melksham, Hannan
  20. No was inside, will be outside Wednesday, his program is rigidly controlled to ensure he only does what he is supposed to, as reported previously he is taking it out on the weights in the gym No, they are having a long weekend before heading off to Qld, work life balance, Lewis for one will be leaving his new twins for a week
  21. Weed should be back after Maroochydoor, Jones did full session today, gives me nothing so asked how his calf, neck, back, being 30 were all good Tim Smith back in main group as is Kent McKenna hamstring issues now sorted solid month of rehab awaits
