You need to temper your expectations on Pickett, he didn't take part in full match sim, in previous half field drill he had Salem on him and didn't get near it In other drills you can see the natural talent though Another highlight was Petracca taking on May in a one on one in match sim, May buried him, to Trac's 'annoyance' and May's delight. May also buried Bedford Although Petty didn't take part in full match sim, took a couple of strong grabs in half field, including one where he knocked May of the line of the ball, much to May's annoyance this time

Really good @Baghdad Bob , I have always thought of you as irregular I have been told about the 'soreness' as well Would love to spend a morning at Goschs banging bodies and running an average of 11km each session, which is what Burgess has got them doing

I think Weid's issue is the same as Trac's, it's in the head, he has the size and the talent, but seems to be mentally unsure Think the coaches must drive themselves mad trying to convince both how good they could be

Why, the training thread has turned into a really good thread, we are getting different perpectives and opinions and good discussions without posters reverting to boorish or childish insults if they don't agree I have a different opinion on Rivers kicking skills after watching him, but I like to read others without necessarily agreeing with them Exactly what a forum should be I hope @fr_ap goes to training and reports again, the depth and detail was top class

That is the opinion of the poster, you don't have to agree with it, same as we don't have to agree with yours

Over critical in my opinion, but allowed to be Omac has been good in all the sessions I have been to I have pointed out before about Brayshaw and his body language at training, bit like Clarry in the running, but if it was an issue, would soon be pulled into line

Everybody was on the park training last year, to varying levels, a lot of the ops were upper body, so did not preclude them from running Every team looks a million dollars in pre season, that never changes 'training the house down' The fact players miss kicks in hot and windy weather is neither here nor there, as long as the poor kicks can be eradicated on match day But then show me a team that is clanger free

Yes, seen it about three times now, run by that terrible kick, J. Lewis There are still a couple, unnamed, who put me in danger of being hit at the fence, but it's getting better- TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2019
@george_on_the_outer claim????? got a nice 7 hour shift on Friday if you're interested will miss training?? Chatted to Goody at the end about that rolling and jumping drill, a fan???- TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2019
Tsk tsk latecomers, first boys out on the grass at 8.50am Had to go to work, will post pics later, probably got a slightly blurry pic of Jackson's leap in practice ruck work- TRAINING: Monday 9th December 2019
In the training threads there is opportunity for completely different opinions or interpretations to be expressed by track watchers, which is a healthy thing and for readers to follow up with their opinion No opinion is right or wrong, I just don't like the building up of players for them to be then knocked down From what I have seen Jackson has the basis to be a very good AFL player, but there is a long eay to go He took one mark in a drill where for the rest of the time he couldn't get near it Next time, in the same drill, hopefully he will have learnt and he takes a few more and so on- TRAINING: Monday 9th December 2019
Rash generalisations? Isn't that what the penicillin is for?- TRAINING: Monday 9th December 2019
He also worked with the mids at one point, in wing role, happily buried Ed Langdon into the turf- TRAINING: Monday 9th December 2019
Watching him train, as I have said, can see why we went for him at 3 In the aforementioned marking drill, Steven May went out of his way to knock Jackson around, exactly what he needs to get used to I just want him to be given all the time he needs - TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2019
