The Ashes - 2019
Well i didnt see any of the last session unfortunately, as i was pretty tired after a long week together with a touch of the lergie that is flying around up here. The English middle order is their strength i think. The way this wicket is playing, they could still put on a big score and all the pressure will be back on us. An early breakthough is imperative and once again i will need 2 Tvs so i can watch the Dees, although that one may well end up in the backyard with the 12 others out there..... The rain dance is probably the best idea at this point. It rained for 3 days before the test began, which kinda begs the question why wouldnt you send them in after we won the toss? You only do that 10% of the time, but i think that may have been one. The wicket had little preparation. To be honest im not loving Paines captaincy so far, his mindset is defensive.. But he may well turn it around and there is still a long way to go. Im sure he has plethora of good advice. If not he can always turn to Demonland.

The Ashes - 2019
I thought he was going to be there till stumps. This is better with the attacking fieldsman in position now. Not long till tea, so attack. I always feels better when i see Steve Waugh sitting there. I just looked at the long range forcast and theres a bit of rain coming in the coming days. Could get interesting. https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=Edgbaston+7+day+forcast

The Ashes - 2019
Great reflex catch from Siddle. Well done. Paine needs to go on the attack here.

The Ashes - 2019
Cant remember seeing a match with so many reviews and so many wrong calls. It does seem as if its creating the opposite. It does indeed remove their job and ive never really liked that. Perhaps we could remove coaches as well huh? haha.. Im not happy with this no 3rd slip. The draw is still 6.50 in from 13 this morning.

Root is batting like Boycott

The Ashes - 2019
Wed be into the 3rd innings already if it wasnt for DRS.

The Ashes - 2019
Yes he does dl and hes already got him once, but we didnt review. Lyon will just get bigger as the game progresses. They are going to be 1 down in their bowling department with the injury to Anderson and that is big.

The Ashes - 2019
We should have had 3 wickets in that session and we would have them on the ropes. As it is i felt they won the session, just.

The Ashes - 2019
Osmium is the heaviest element Macca. The poms must have put some inside the bails.
-
The Ashes - 2019
Boycott, surely he is no longer relevant! Now we have a player given out caught behind when he was actually bowled! Amazing how they have trained the bails to lift off and land back down in the same spot. Must be done with mirrors or something. This is going to be one of those series.

The Ashes - 2019
Well done SWYL, you saw one of the great Ashes innings.

The Ashes - 2019
Both teams seem hesitant to use up their DRS picks early, but then if your right it doesnt count as a pick. I thought it was damn close. Easy from the armchair though. The skipper was right behind it though, hes in a pretty good spot. Lyon needs to get Burns soon now. The numbers are stupid. Thats the good thing about test cricket, its relatively free of BS. Not sure why they bought them in. Root 66 are they taking the pizz?

The Ashes - 2019
Yep any minute now Macca! 13th over tho is rather early, but it is England i guess. Good start so far this morning. Nothing like prime time cricket! Whats with the dinner napkins hanging out the back of several players trousers?

The Ashes - 2019
I didnt stay up, but apparently when we were 9 down with Smith batting, England had 9 players on the boundaries....with Root looked totally lost.

The Ashes - 2019
Agree Macca, its a pretty reasonable score on what looks a pretty flat track atm. (Considering we lost 5-23, we really climbed off the canvas)! I have also questions about the bowling, inc why no Stark? It remains to be seen if we can bowl them out cheaply on what looks like a 400+ track. Roy is the one i worry about, need to get rid of him early. Certainly will be an interesting first session tonight. Lets hope theyre very annoyed. I think we shut the Balmy Army up for a while.

The Ashes - 2019
Thanks Spud. I couldnt work it out, cause i thought it was 2? Nassar Insane pointed out at one stage just how many they got wrong, albiet all pretty close calls really. Guess theyre only human, although i think one of them shops at the same fancy dress place as i do, judging by that beard! Smith is a legend. The haters can keep booing & hating.

The Ashes - 2019
I got a txt message as i woke up this morning, i couldnt believe it. I was really questioning Siddles inclusion, but he stay now! Steve Smith broke all the rules by taking a leadership role when hes not allowed to until 2020! 144 in your first game back! If only he could captain the Dees. I think England really had their tails up at Edgbaston after their win in the World Cup a few weeks before. Think we might have bought them back to earth. Looks like we are in for a great series now. Bring it on.
