Would be a massive win if we could somehow keep it

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Surely we'd have to look at getting a three way trade done with the crows and blues although the blues are known to greatly overrate their own players. This is evident with SOS cleaning out all his picks from the giants My complicated attempt would be we send sam frost and our second rounder ( 28) to the crows for their first rounder (16-18) we send (16-18) and 2018 second round pick for Bryce Gibbs. Bryce Gibbs goes to Adelaide in exchange for jake lever jake lever comes to us. Crows get Gibbs, frost and a second rounder for a first rounder and lever we get lever for frost and 2 second rounders blues get a first and a second rounder for Gibbs we get jake lever into the club and retain our pick number 10 and 2018 pick

End of year delistings
Hannan hasn't had nearly the opportunity Kent has and took his spot. Another pre season and improved tank and I'd have hannan comfortably ahead of Kent.

His "exclusive" on Jesse hogan last year was proof he has no idea.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
With the new pay deal it's about the same as $650k last year I reckon. Still borderline overs but he's definitely A Grade and you have to pay overs to lure guys like that

2018 - Minimum 16 wins EXPECTED
I honestly think the players thought there was little chance west coast could knock off the crows ( as I did as well) and that acted as a safety net in their minds and they didn't bring the effort needed early. I agree though. My expectations are finals and pushing for top 4. If we aren't in the conversation for top 4 going into the final two rounds it's probably a failed season based on our talent and the likely addition of jake lever. I think injuries probably cost us 2-3 wins this year and mental weakness probably the same again. We were only genuinely beaten a handful of times which is a positive. Min 2018 we should have no fear of any team at all.

Clarence Oliver
No i certainly don't. But I also don't buy the idea that Oliver isn't damaging enough, of course he's going to become a lot more damaging as he kicks more but his inside game is absolutely elite. I think he's definitely top 40 and probably just missing the team itself
-
Clarence Oliver
I think he's damaging because he can take a ball that 99% of the competition would allow to be locked in or couldn't hope to get clear and not only get it clear but get it to our advantage. He's unbelievable in close and clearly elite in this area. On this basis I think he should be in the side for what he is, an inside beast because no other inside mid has matched him as that role player
-
Clarence Oliver
Kane Kornes is on a twitter rampage trying to defend claytons non selection saying he isn't damaging enough.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Based on the interview with peter Jackson when asked about lever he refused to confirm our interest but said " it's exciting that players want to come to the mfc, it's our goal to be a destination club" reading between the lines I think he's ours if we can satisfy a trade for he crows

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
The big dollar offer suggests to me that we knocked on his door. I must admit I am a little surprised because Adelaide are a chance to win the flag. Getting the trade over the line will be tough if he does choose us
-
Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Agreed. The club is generally pretty creative at the trade table
-
Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
And the other thing to add to this is lever is an established star, and that's a lot better than your standard pick 4 which is a gamble and might land you jimmy Toumpas. Our first pick and frost would have to be the starting point. Perhaps their 2017 second rounder for our 2018 first rounder as an upgrade?
-
Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
So the hyperhetical trade would be our first pick and sam frost? Surely that's a Major win for us to land a bloke like lever.

I've heard Richmond have an offer for him that's as good as any if dusty does go.- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Would our first rounder and dean Kent get it over the line?- Josh Kelly
I don't think it's financially viable for us to spend the sort of money it'd take to get Kelly. We have a lot of young stars to re-sign as much as he'd be a perfect fit. Plus I doubt we could satisfy a trade for him and lever without giving up a young gun.- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Lever has said publicly there are four factors to this decision 1. Money. We can offer him the $$$ he wants 2. Family, his family are in vic 3. Team success, well we should play finals this year and keep the upward trend with him coming on board 4. Hasn't been confirmed but I've heard his mrs wants to move back to Melbourne- Clarence Oliver
He has been ultra consistent all year. And I think he'll improve quite a lot when he improves his kick to handball ratio because he's a beautiful kick. Scary how good he could become- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I think the way the game is played with zones you're almost happy to go in undersized because any long kick to that big full forward becomes dangerous. If they don't make it guys like hunt and hibberd are able to move it very quickly back the other way and we can score. Lever is an unbelievable reader of the game and will really add to this area. - Josh Kelly
