http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-07-16/aflca-votes-round-17-big-max-gets-max-votes Another 10 coaches votes for Gawn. Remains on top, unfortunately the two blokes behind him polled also. Oliver now just 1 vote outside the top 10.

Would love him in the Melbourne team... one more hitout at Casey and he has to be a chance vs the Crows.

Oliver has moved up to 6th http://www.afl.com.au/stats/player-ratings/overall-standings

I am talking Hall of Fame level talent. Schwarz was on his way to being the best player in the comp before he did his knee, Lyon was an incredible player with multiple AA selections and multiple 70+ goal seasons but was always hampered by injury. Allen Jakovich would have kicked 1000 career goals if he is body wasn't a mess. Oliver and Robbie speak for themselves. Neither Jurrah or Farmer are on that level.

Top 5 most gifted MFC footballers post 1980 1. Clayton Oliver 2. Robbie Flower 3. David Schwarz 4. Allen Jakovich 5. Garry Lyon Debate me.

Ahh so thats what happens when you nail a pick 2, pick 3, pick 4 and a pick 2 (mini draft) and then develop them properly.
-
Gawn is now 2nd favourite for the Brownlow.

The Lions will end the Crows season this coming weekend.

Jacks stubborness (and stupidity) has made it harder for us to make the finals. Hopefully we make it and he can sit in the stands and watch and maybe finally learn his lesson. So disappointing.

That will be the case for 5 of the last 6 rounds.
-
Thats true. He has to be a big chance to make it. Havent watched the Sunday Footy show for a few weeks but was was in Lloyds AA team last time I saw.
-
No change. Though I still dont like Vince and Lewis in the same team.
-
True. One other good thing about all these upsets is that it will likely take 13 wins to make the 8 now. it was looking like it may take 14 there for a while. So if we win 3 of the last 6 we will make it. And top 4 is there for the taking.

If we had just gotten a win against garbage teams Port or St Kilda we would be in such a great position. No point crying over spilt milk though. Bring on the Cats.

Would prefer a Kangaroo win here. It would leave us 5th after the round having leapfrogged Sydney. I'm no rocket scientist, but I am pretty sure moving up the ladder is a good thing.
-
Please tell me we are getting this guy.

Weid kicks a goal.

Sounds like Weideman is having a shocker. Nice reminder not to spend a top 10 pick on a project player.

Seeing the combination of Brayshaw, Oliver and Petracca dominating the centre clearances and streaming us forward in the third quarter really hit home why we were so bad for so long. We had Jones as our only capable mid for years , and he was always at best a B grader. We now have a fleet of young A graders in the midfield.
-
Gawn, Oliver and Hogan surely will all be in the AA team. Pretty sure the MFC has never had three All Australians in the same season, this could be the year.

Either result from the first two games can help us, but what would really be awesome is Freo upsetting Port.
