Schwarz was on his way to being the best player in the comp before he did his knee, Lyon was an incredible player with multiple AA selections and multiple 70+ goal seasons but was always hampered by injury. Allen Jakovich would have kicked 1000 career goals if he is body wasn't a mess. Oliver and Robbie speak for themselves. Neither Jurrah or Farmer are on that level.

Seeing the combination of Brayshaw, Oliver and Petracca dominating the centre clearances and streaming us forward in the third quarter really hit home why we were so bad for so long. We had Jones as our only capable mid for years , and he was always at best a B grader. We now have a fleet of young A graders in the midfield.

Gawn, Oliver and Hogan surely will all be in the AA team. Pretty sure the MFC has never had three All Australians in the same season, this could be the year.

Either result from the first two games can help us, but what would really be awesome is Freo upsetting Port.
