  1. I favour the global deletion. Might be good practice for when The Donald takes over.
  2. Sorry, it might look confusing now since another mod has put the vacuum cleaner through the kinds of posts I was referring to.* See above. In any case the key word was 'attitudinising'. I didn't say anything about discussion. * edit: that hadn't happened to the extent I thought. Now it has. This post is now redundant. I hope.
  3. This thread has – for obvious reasons – turned towards Watson's announcement. Repeated attitudinising about ASADA or anything else is the sort of derailing DL has pointed to recently. It will be treated as such from here on.
  4. Can't quite pick it up, iv'a, coz I've forgotten the scratch band name they used but I've sent her a Facebook message. Will let you know. Edit: can be found with a youtube search on The Maidens + Gypsy Wife. I tried to post the url here but all it does is post the clip and I'm not sure it's appropriate to do that.
  5. About five years ago one of my then students and a friend did a version of 'The Gypsy's Wife' and put it on YouTube. Cohen contacted them a while later to say how much he liked what they'd done. They walked on clouds for the rest of the year.
  6. One of the greats.
  7. Forgot to ask, Froggie: did you learn about the Queensland system which used to operate brilliantly by having a minister of the crown living in a local government area (with the small proviso that any developed road usually ended at the minister's gate?
  8. I bloody don't ... I may not be a city slicker anyway but I have the nbn's satellite 'service' (despite having 100% signal strength for fixed wireless, I'm not permitted access to it). Slow when it's working, which happens episodically. Far too systematic, Mr Old.
  9. Agreed. It's a parks and gardens kind of place. There's a Japanese garden which is small but pretty impressive. And a lookout somewhere (can't remember now).
  10. This thread obviously has no further purpose.
  11. Only according to groupthink, daisy.
  12. No you haven't. There, that's my opinion, which I'll be happy to repeat ad nauseam.
  13. So you've got an opinion, which you repeat endlessly. Very impressive. Of course if you do a bit of research you might have a different opinion; but you don't so you won't. Welcome to the post-factual world.
  14. Not quite right, faulty. I assumed the same as you but had a look and the rules only refer to PEDs and the ASADA code. And the ASADA code only involves recreational drugs to the extent that they might be performance enhancing. The AFL only has a recreational drugs 'policy' which the players are expected to sign up to but which, even when they do, they can drive a truck through.
  15. lol I'm not sure what the fixation with knives contributes anyway. You can spread butter with a stick or a piece of cardboard, or just leaving it in the sun ... sun ... Suns ... Nah, that won't work either.
  16. The spin that's starting to emerge is that it's clearing a salary cap path for Fyfe and Martin to join the Hawks next year. But maybe it's just a sophisticated form of tanking. Not that the Hawks would ever do that, obviously.
  17. Wusthof make knives. All I can offer.
  18. That's fine, AF. The sort of grubby, prurient post that appeared here briefly isn't and anybody else who wants to indulge will discover not just words disappearing.
  19. That would be a good idea. And so would that.
  20. Can't spot him:
  21. Far be it from me to confirm or deny Mr Biffen's departure given my obligation to abide by moderatorial constraints, but I look forward to the time when he is able to elevate his humour to the level you describe, BBO.
  22. Speaking of spiders from around that time, there was an article in yesterday's Gold Coast Bulletin on the misspelt one, Spida Everett and his standout game for Qld veterans against Vic Metro a few days ago. He's still got it, apparently, and might push Burton for the spot.
  23. Noted. I'll raise this with the others (if they happen to be around and not sunning themselves in far north Queensland or the Costa del Sol or wherever it is that the inner sanctum retires to at this time of year).
  24. Probably the same one who told you ages ago that copyright breaches like that are outside the Demonland code. Steve asked for a PM and it should have been handled that way.
