  1. I thought Salem moved better than he has since that one day in September. Looks like he’s got real confidence in his legs again, and found the tempo of the game. It’s so good to see. He is an absolute gun, and makes us much harder to play against.
  2. That’s so interesting that you saw that @A F I reckon he’s been so good this year. His marking and courage is really impressive. I think sometimes fatigue impacts his kicking, and he often tries to kick the ball 60 metres, but doesn’t have the distance. I think it’s just taking time for him to develop composure at this level. I think he’s going to be a great player, it’s just consistency and knowing what decisions to make when.
  3. I really like the sound of ‘’Jake and Steve’. It has a real no nonsense, 1980’s Belfast ring to it. ‘Sent out Jake and Steve. Job done. Don’t ask no questions.’
  4. We had a win! We’ve found some great young players this year, who look to be 100-200 game players. We’ve got players coming back from long term injuries like Salem and Grundy who look better every week. There’s work to be done, but it’s the 1st of June. We have months to get our game plan humming.
  5. Just had a look on the AFL site. May didn’t play until Round 3, and Tommo went out for him. So I don’t think all 3 haven’t played together (May, Lever and Tomlinson), at least this season - and last year I don’t think they would have with Petty back too. I really hope this makes it easier for Tomlinson, and frees up Lever to intercept.
  6. Has Tomlinson played in the last 12 months with May and Lever? From memory he’s only come in to cover. Am I wrong?
  7. I feel for both of them. Hore looked so good for us, and then had injuries wipe out 2 years of his career. He was probably the best player in the VFL when we grabbed him. He’s had no luck.
  8. I’d suggest we’ve also had the hardest last 25 games of anyone in the comp by a fair margin too. That’s a David King style stat - it’s entirely meaningless without context.
  9. Ollie looks 16 in this video, but about 38 playing for Casey.
  10. They only weren’t prepared to go on THIS record - a record they perceived to be biased. They wanted to go to the Arbitration in Sport, and it looks like they want to go to the Human Rights Commission. They perceive the AFL process to be flawed. The AFL is the same people who run the Tribunal. It’s fair to say that’s not a legal process most agree with.
  11. Journalists must hate Goodwin. He just diffuses everything and only talks about what we can control. It’s painfully boring, and exactly what the club would want from him.
  12. The Zorko report is a disgrace. Players get a week for not tackling correctly, in a split second, while trying to win the ball. Zorko gives away a free kick and then deliberately scratches the players face while he still has his hand around his throat - and gets the same thing. Intention has to mean more than accidental injury in a contact sport.
  13. Incredible round of results. It’s a tight season.
  14. Ummm, that’s your bias. I find it to be glaringly the other way, and it reaches fever pitch after a loss.
  15. That last bit made me laugh Dazzle because I know you were trying to stir me up, but it’s also true. It’s why I keep coming back here, even if I have to wade through a lot of emotional negativity just to get to see how others see the game.
  16. You don’t understand the context of what I said Dazzle. I never said any of what you implied. Everyone is free to say whatever they want - even those who admitted THEY HAVEN’T EVEN BOTHERED TO WATCH YESTERDAY’S GAME, yet want to come on here and write a thesis about what’s wrong with the club.
  17. I agree. This round of footy has proven how tight the competition is. This might the year where doing the simple things well make all the difference.
  18. Who said that? Where? Or is this just you making stuff up again?
  19. Jaded had a rant about a lot of stuff that I never said. I’m happy to discuss the team, and the psychology of sports fans - but I never said, or inferred, anyone was a bad fan. I simply said I have a bias that makes me see a lot of the same negative posters after a loss. I’m sure a lot of other posters also have the same bias that means they see certain posters opinions post loss and think ‘here we go’. I was actually using that statement as a way to relate to you @layzie as a fellow fan, and to highlight how we all see things differently. It’s a shame another poster twisted my words to suit their own negative context - or maybe that’s just my bias talking again ;) I like your style Layzie. Don’t go changing. Call it how you see it ✌️
  20. Did you even read what I said? I never said any of what you spent so long responding to. Sometimes you love an irrational rant Jaded.
  21. If we didn’t win today then literally ever other result works for us.
  22. It’s funny you say that Layz. As a more optimistic supporter I feel like a lot of fans on here love a loss - so they can have a real crack at the club. We all bring our own biases I guess. In the end we all just want success.
