  1. I'm thinking it may be Lever... Petracca is not over the line yet by the way. Probably Ox's 90 something % but not a total lock.
  2. Think about it P-man, I'm not agreeing or disagreeing on Petracca but everyone whose opinion is worth more than a pinch of muck rated Tom Scully as a number 1 pick and his kicking is pretty ordinary.
  3. A great line that one, I just hope our recruiting team haven't gone about interviewing players under the same influence that Jock did.
  4. Not playing anyone unless he has a good reason and they deserve their spot. Not sure what you're meaning here 'rpfc' but if they went head to head McCartin wouldn't be a play thing, that bit I can guarantee you.
  5. Maybe apart from Hogan, he is better. Gawn is a ruck, Pedersen & Fitzpatrick depth. Now for one thing we might not even have McCartin and if we do I wouldn't be ruling a line through him just yet. I wouldn't be gifting games to Pedersen, Gawn or Fitzpatrick because they've been around a while. I am sick of gifting games to players who don't deserve it be they kids or experienced campaigners. That's right, he doesn't expect them to be saviours but he doesn't rule them out of developing at senior level either. Roos has been quoted as saying a lot of things and then it's 'Demonland' law that Roos does this or Roos does that. I judge him more on his actions. Roos does play first year players, first game in the AFL. It doesn't mean McCartin will or McCartin won't. If we go on 'Demonland' law we won't take McCartin and at least 3 of our picks will be used for senior players not kids.
  6. Why do you say this, Roos actions don't necessarily show that to be right. JKH played the first game last year. If we take McCartin and he shows plenty in preseason then there is no reason he won't play first game.
  7. Of course you can but the really good ones make an impact early in their careers. Brown, Brereton, Lockett for example made an impact early. The good thing about Hogan and McCartin is they are hard at it competitors (mongrels), a thing they share in common with the above players. I reckon it's these types that make it early. Jeremy Cameron is another that made an early impact but I wouldn't put him in the mongrel category although he is no shrinking violet when it comes to standing his ground.
  8. I would think more if we pick him up. McCartin is already better in the air and his leading patterns are better than Dawes. Dawes has a mature AFL body but it does seem to let him down a bit.
  9. ...but he was playing better footy without injury last year against the older kids 'Bob' so I don't think it will be a problem for him.
  10. ...but the draft is not today.
  11. Might be, who are you missing or who will be missing?
  12. A consultant with more than a lot of influence.
  13. Might have been his press conference but I heard the same thing. Seems like they are going to use pick 40.
  14. Not arguably, he was a great player.
  15. Spot on 'good oil', Gore is the more natural mid, particularly in the stoppages where he reads and distributes well.
  16. Garlett is the only one with runs (goals) on the board though.
  17. So do I, the comment is more about those who keep talking about our poor midfield but I would suggest our forward line may now be worse. Of course Hogan and Garlett will add a lot and Howe being able to roam the forward half rather than being a key target will also help. On current performance our forward line in very, very poor on future outlook it looks better but we still have a very long way to go before we start discounting KPF's in the draft.
  18. Only one proven quality forward in that lot 'Redleg', and he's coming off a bad season.
  19. Rather than our 'F' troop forward line?
  20. Wouldn't make as good a story though 'Jack'.

Now...is there any serious talk of Beams being in a trade deal to MFC or is it just stuff made up here? Who is reporting this stuff and do they have real info or are they just reading 'Demonland'?

I know some are saying the situations are different and every situation is but if Beams is using his sick father to get out of Collingwood then it's pretty low I reckon. Clark used depression to get out of Melbourne, similar I think. I wouldn't trust Beams if that's the way he does business. Similar because both seem to have a value system based around money. I haven't read all of this thread but I think 'Pennant' mentioned something about taking time out to be with his father. If his father is in really bad shape then the only honourable thing to do is to go home, trade or no trade.
  23. 'Hood', you might remember back in Box Hill in the days when the rail crossing was on Station Street just before every State election the tractors rolled in. Of course it was a con job on the electorate who thought that finally the crossing was being removed and the line going under the street. Then after the election the tractors disappeared but the crossing didn't. Ever since then I use the word "tractors" when ever I hear about the airport rail link and many other great ideas that seem to miraculously come up around election time and just as miraculously disappear after. This sounds like tractors to me.
