Personally I rate Betts higher then Rioli, he gets more goals and has less injuries.

We did well last year so I am sure we ll do well again. We don't have much to lose and alot to gain this year really. We should also try to leverage a trade using Sylvia.

Arguably the best small forward in the game. He is a FA end of this year and is only 26, with Davey most likely calling it a day at the end of this season I think that we should make a play for him. He would fill a gaping hole and would give us one of the most dangerous forward lines in the game with Hogan, Dawes, Clark, Betts with some of our quick mids resting. Even if we don't get him we can force Carlton to pay overs, make them regret paying Mclean what they do.

Makes you wonder with the season looming and this going on, it would be interesting if players had to suddenly quit or give up taking any type of supplements due to them being in the 'grey' area. Could it possibly mean that some players from rival clubs may be suffering withdrawal symptoms early in the season. Could be an easy win come round 2 against Essendon.

I have a feeling gc may request Wellingham for Caddy but rassilons deal that gets us involved is enough. All we need to do is somehow involve ourselves in any gc trade and we may be ok...even petterd for 3rd rounder or so may put us on their good side.

Melbourne do get a player. Toy GC have pick 4 to do what they want. Adelaide wouldn't be trading with Melbourne directly so I don't see why they would need to give Melbourne anything. I dont see how they would be in any position to demand anymore either. Pick #3 for Tippet is already more then enough.

I think Gold Coast would go for it if it gave them a Trump Card over Brisbane to get Tippet. The downgrade would ultimately mean O Rourke instead of Toumpas. I don't think their is miles between the 2. Pick 3 and 4 beat Brisbanes pick #8 which they will probably offer Adelaide. 13 would not be able to trump brisbane. And Adelaide would love Grundy as a replacement for Tippet, I am not sure who else they would get and by the sounds of it he is definitely leaving.

If they get pick #9 from Carlton maybe a #pick 2 + #pick 9 + Toy from GC for a #pick 3 and #pick 4 would be worthwhile. Would secure us Toy, #2(Toumpas), #9 (Wines), #13 (Stringer, Garlett, Kennedy, Simpson) and Viney 2nd round Would secure GC Tippett + Pick 4 (O'Rourke) Would secure Adelaide Grundy

Does not help our Viney 2nd round cause at all ... GC would be after Carlton's first rounder. If they get it they will bid for Viney to replace Caddy and bump up the pick they get from Carlton.

I have no idea why you keep harping on about a 17yr old anyway, they have not shown any major interest in trading off pick #2 for a 17yr old. They have shown interest in Viney and Tippet. Put 1 and 1 together. Pick #2 = Good for Viney, overs for Tippet. Logical outcome = Pick #2 for Viney and whatever else they can scrummage together for Tippet.

Best outcome would be for GC to trade pick #2 for Tippet + Adelaides first rounder. (Pick 18ish?) Only way I can see pick #2 coming into play

That makes no sence. Draft pick #2 will not be used for Tippet. And where have they said they are keen on a 17yr old. Whats preventing them from taking Viney at 2 then trading off Caddy as a package with their 2nd rounder and using what they get back from that to snare Tippet.

GC want both Tippet and pick #2. At the moment they are trying to use Caddy to get some lever-edge. Pick #2 for Tippet is overs. Pick 5 - 10 would be about right. So question is how can they use Caddy to get that type of pick? Caddy + 2nd rounder for Richmonds/Bulldogs/Carltons first rounder is only way I can see it being feasible, sadly I dont think those teams have expressed interest in Caddy.

How is it a miss analysis? And why on earth would we put pick #4 on the table to assist Adelaide? GC have to fork out enough needed and currently they don't want to.

Biggest issue is that Gold Coast has nothing that we want to warrant us giving them pick #4 unless they are willing to part with Bennell or O'Meara for it. Realistically GC want more then they can afford or are willing to give. At the moment they are trying to manipulate a trade for Caddy which will buy them Tippet but any team would be a fool to think they are of the same value. Imho its either pick #2 or Tippet for GC
