Ok then.....I'll just go out the back yard and pick a successful coach from my coaches tree, shall I?.......Which one would you like a/ One that the players love?? b/ One that the supporters love?? c/ One that can rebuild in 6 months??? d/ One that can change the culture and playing group immediately??? I can't see how sacking our coaches every 2 years would make MFC an "attractive" place to be I can't see how we would attract a new coach with the job security of Zero.......

Yep.....sacking another coach half way through a contract.....Gee all prospective coaches would be lining up.....Bring instant success or be sacked in a year and a half ....

Was just going through why we were beaten by Gold Coast last week and came across some interesting facts.......and also why Mark Neeld says it will take some years to be a good side. When the Gold Coast first came into the AFL they had a choose of 12 of the best 17 year olds in the country..They had 8 first round draft picks which included Swallow, Bennell, Day, Caddy(Geelong),Prestia, Lynch, The 17 year old included...Matera, McKenzie, Dixon, Shaw, Smith, some of these were Qld local picks 10 in total that other clubs could not get access to. On top of this they got Ablett for free,(best player in the country) and access to Brown, Rischitelli, Bock, Brennan, Harbrow, Frazer, In their first two years they seemed young and could not go the distance with the more established clubs and also had help with their draw from the AFL.....This week is the first time they have had a six day break It has taken them 3 years to gel into a side after 4 pre seasons and have also had more high draft picks because of their position on the ladder, these included O'Meara ...Jack Martin to come next year. The point I as trying to make is that with so many new players and so many young ones it will take time......The young ones come in to our club with so much supporter expectation and supporters need to realise that it takes time...I wish it didn't but....

Whilst I agree with most of your post........I would have thought that Neeld told the board that the fitness and culture of this footy club was so behind the standard of other AFL clubs it would take 3 to 4 years to correct this. I know we all want to be finalists NOW....but unfortunately it takes TIME.....Change always does We are talking about the WHOLE fabric of this club changing ....I believe that this has started

The teacher "teaches"......If the pupil does not want to learn...it's his problem....He is the one who must pass the exams.....You don't have to respect them....you just have to learn from them....

I will start out by saying that I have played footy at VFA level......I did not have the greatest skills....I am 183cm and was fairly light and played back pocket/back flank... I got a game by determination and getting in for the ball.....We had all sorts of game plans(even then) but my understanding of these plans was fairly limited.....ie , where to kick ,where to run,.....but I just went in and got the ball or shepparded or chased or tackled......This does not require great skill or understanding.... I used to get into trouble for not following said games plans but still got a game because I did the above mentioned things. I am not trying to pump up my own tyres.....just stressing that with the right attitude you can become a valued member of the team...and if all your mates do the same then your team can win games.....

I don't think that Roos will coach again......Why would he give up a very comfortable life where he can just criticise from the safety of the sidelines.....He would have to change his address.....Change his life style....Not go to the USA every off season to see his wife's family...... To coach MFC....Where the chances of his great coaching record go south quickly, therefore diminishing his value to foxtel if he fails....

WYL.....I agree that the board will not stay the same.....some will go...but we have to get the right people to replace them.....This is not as easy as it seems.....And putting people who are ex footballers on the board just because they were footballers (as one poster suggested) is just stupid.... There must be a balance....The right mix of business and football nous....

What?????.....So the AFL are going to pick our board now????? Therefore we, as members are irrelevant????

I think people are a bit hard on Molan.......Did a horrific knee when he first came to the club and never recovered.......

So saying that......Neeld will responsible for our success in the future???????...Will he be launded for our future stars????...because of the things he started someone else will get the glory????? And I take nothing for fact........ in this world of AFL....until a contract is presented......And why would he give up a very easy life style where he goes to the USA every off season to visit his wife's family?????

And what happens when he can't get the team to the promised land WYL????......After paying out contracts......Paying Zillions for Roos.....and financially ruining the club.......I thought Barassi coming back to coach all those years ago was supposed to deliver some success?????....What happened to that?????....Paul Roos does not want to coach........and if he did he would not come to Melbourne......You can demand all you want....but it will not happen....

I can't see why people can't get it through their collective heads.......Roos will not coach Melbourne..... not this week not in two weeks time....Not EVER......
