  1. I think with Hurley and a fit Ryder Crameri. 2 years training with the weapon will pay off this year. Heppel and Zaharakis are older fitter and stronger and Goddard and Watson should be able to release Stanton.

I suppose time will tell and I will be over the moon if we finish higher than them. But IMHO I would have them nearly top 4

  2. We were terrible I know but let's not forget who handed out the thrashing. I can remember listening to the game on the radio from start to finish and after the finial siren I remember thinking one thing.

    How ruthless Geelong were.

From the first bounce until the final siren the beat us down and kicked us while we huddled on the ground crying and didn't let up once. The reason I remember this is because one day I want us to be that ruthless. I want to be ten goals up at half time and come out even more hungry.

If you look at that game as a fan of football and not a fan of the demons the cats were amazing

  3. 1) Sydney2) Adelaide3) Fremantle4) Hawthorn5) Collingwood6) Richmond7) WCE8) Geelong 9) Carlton10) Brisbane11) North Melbourne12) St. Kilda13) Melbourne14) Essendon15) Gold Coast16) Western Bulldogs17) Port Adelaide18) GWS No standout for me this year, but Adelaide and Fremantle to rise and contend.Grand Final is tough to pick.Essendon the big slide. Almost no goal kicking capacity. The underlined teams could all shuffle positions. Whoever has the best draw might move up. Dees could reach 10th but probably need 2 interstate wins and 2 Etihad wins to achieve this.

So Melbourne will finish higher than Essendon? Easily?...

Really? We are talking about AFL?

    I'll take those odds

  4. So true. Garland and Rivers were key forwards last year. Ouch. Blease Clark HowePedersen Dawes Byrnes Pedersen is a step up from Martin as a forward. If he can hold down 2nd ruck, Clark, Dawes, Pedersen could work well together. Hogan will add more 'welcome problems' next year.

This game will be fun next year.

    F: Hogan Dawes Barry

    HF: Howe Clark Sylvia

  5. Everyone knows the names Dawes, Petersen, Rodan, Byrnes etc. and other clubs have good young players coming onto their lists as well. In that respect, we are as well known as any other team.

However, IMO we're embarking on 2013 with so many unknowns at play. We don't know how much the constant off field drama, outside criticism and the changes brought about by the new coaching regimen including the revamp of the leadership group affected overall team performance last year but it's fair to say that the impact of these things was negative.

However, so much has changed and with many of the more poorly performed members of the list falling by the wayside in turning over one third of the list, with so many players appearing fitter and better prepared and with the possibility of younger players ready to take some big steps forward, we just don't know exactly how everything will gel together in 2013.

So while I'm optimistic about things, I think the use of the word "unpredictable" is most apt.

Is this taking issue going to drag on? Will it affect the playing group? Are heads going to roll?

It seems to be one thing after another, the last 18 months there has been something about Melbourne in the media. The sooner we can all put this behing us the better I believe.

What is going to happen if we don't gel? Its a possibility...

    Things might get ugly...er

  6. That seems about right, I think I originaly had us above St Kilda but they still have alot of stars, Dal Santo, Hayes and Saint Nick. If they decide to go with youth and start to "rebuild" we might jump them otherwise I think 13th is the best we can hope for in reality.

  7. I was scourning Melbourne history sites and Scottish geography and trying to match a famous town of lake or mountian or state... Im gonna smash the next one I can feel it, infact im going for the ultimate 100 pointer and guessing before a clue has been posted...

  8. I found 'ology first, was then lead here. I prefer it here cos there is more going on, action every day. 'ology seemed a bit slow for me it was nothing for it to go days without a single post

There is too many crazy people here to not post, they cant help themselves...

    You know who ou are

  9. You are welcome to your opinion on JW but you are really re-writing history on Tom Hawkins. First 2-3 seasons he was horrible in most games - in and out of the team and there were more than a few media rumblings regarding trading him.

This is my point, and dont be surprised if by the end of this year Hawkins is the best foward in the comp

  10. Tom Hawkins was imposing himself on contests in his first year.I think he kicked four or five in one of his early games against us.JW is not a star and never will be.

I can recall thinking to myself that Hawkins was Soft and a "dud" and he was dropped. Has Watts under performed? Without doubt. Will he be a "star" and kick 600+ goals, probably not. Can he be a weapon for our side in the future in what ever role he plays with elite skills and a cool calm and collected mentality?

    In my opinion yes
