  1. We need 3 midfielders and we need them as of next year. With Hogan coming in I'd trade one of Frawley or Watts for a top line mid. We'll never compete without them.

This is interesting. We can have the best backline or fowardline in the comp but no point if our mids cant get there hands on it. But you only get what you pay for and ATM Frawley or Watts are only worth B grade at best, we have to offer something substantial, something along the lines of the Carlton/Judd deal.

Lets say we go after Patty Dangerfield or Trent Cotchin. Who do we have that is worth someone that good...

Now I know this is going to sound ridiculous and I am sure there will be an enslaught of abuse but there is only one player that will land us a big fish...

    Hogan.

  2. I remember last year when we were playing Geelong(?) in a delayed telecast, and it was close, and with ten minutes or so to go they ahd an add for the up coming news and when they mentioned sport it showed us walking of the ground looking a little unhappy... couldnt believe it.

  3. At least they showed something early. It's been our killer for 2 years now, 2 or 3 good quarters and one terrible. And not only is it bad but it's 10 goals+ bad. Want to see us win the last quarter now

  4. This is the attitude we need. This is what the Melbourne Football Club needs. Stand together. Will we beat West Coast tomorrow? Probably not. Will we play finals this year? I doubt it. Will we stand together and march foward as one? You bloody bet.

MFC forever, stand and be counted and lets move foward.

And when our day comes let us never forget how hard it was. We will drive the boots in. We will be ruthless and we will be proud.

    Lets go Dees!

  5. I'm sorry, what? You can't see much upside in Gawn? You've got to be kidding. Not only did he dominate in the ruck last week in just his second game back from a year-long lay-off, but he also led the tackle count, converted when up forward, and had 20 disposals.

Oh, also, he's 208cm tall...the second tallest player in the league.

Sure, there's chance that he could go the way of many of our other recruits and not live up to his potential, but I have no idea how somebody could not see his upside.

I think you will find he is third behind Sandilands at 211 and Witts down at Collingwood at 209 from memory...

    But agree with the post.

  6. There is a cancer at our club. How many new players have we all seen come in a show a glimmer of talent only for it to disappear. I don't think it would matter who we drafted over the past decade, they a seem to end up lazy and clueless. Is this the fault of the players? Or of the last 2 coaches and coaching staff? Maybe the Footy department ? Who knows what it is but it crushes any player that comes into contact with it. We need to find out where it is and fast. Untreated there is only one outcome, death of the football club.

Well I hope it changes very soon cos I would rather see Jack Viney flourish at another club than waste away at Melbourne.
