  1. Nah more like Darcy Forte actually. Campbell can actually ruck unlike Fullarton. Brisbane just won a GF because in a break glass situation where their no.1 ruck went down, they had an back up ruck (31) who was adequate, experienced and was able to compete with Grundy and help his midfield. If Campbell was playing for MFC this year he would have come straight in with how consistently he performed at VFL level.

Carlton want to push him out and now lack of suitors? I really hope we don't get involved. Over rated IMO
  3. Released two days ago but I think they mention in the pod that it was recorded before the GF

Wait what were the strict set of guidelines? Is this going off of media speculation?

Forgive me. This thread has fried my brain. Appreciate it. Also not a fella 🙃

Oh please don't speak for all of us. I do not know exactly whats happening, nor do I believe that Pert or Goody should be sacked. I'm certainly not basing any of my understanding or opinions on media speculation or assumptions that keep being made by posters here.

Damn Peatling went with Adelaide Would have made all this a bit easier to swallow...

Hey come on now. That one goal on QB was pretty good...

Makes sense to me. Brutal but not sure there were many options at the time. His trade value last year compared to right now is stark in comparison. Wrapped our arms around him. Played him throughout the season to keep him engaged and motivated even though he wasn't in good shape. Talked him up to media every chance we had. I can see how the playing group including Trac would not have been happy with this. But its now time to move on.

Fair that the playing group might still be a bit unhappy with Trac and how the last month or so was dealt with. Hopefully that bridge will be mended over time. But how does this mean that Trac is on the table for trade?

I'd say its because at the moment its only the cats who are interested in him. You would have heard by now if other clubs were sniffing around.

The interview Claz did the other day was frustrating to watch/listen to in this regard. He kept mentioning people having to put up with him last year, especially Max whom he lived with most of the year it seems and mentioned he was like Max's third child for that period. He did thank Max for all the support but it definitely seemed to put a strain on those around him including Trac I'd imagine. This is a 26/27 yr old guy whose on $1 million+ per year. I understand there were personal issues last year as well as not coping well with injuries but there is a degree of professionalism needed and its clear that he hasn't been reaching these standards. Good luck to Geelong with all of that.

Everyone seems under the assumption that its only going to be a two club transaction. Geelong knows very well they will need to get at least one other team involved to get the draft capital to make it work. They are an excellent creative recruiting team.
  14. Hopefully he doesn't!
  15. There's a few people I know that watch a lot of WAFL and local games that believe Bo will be the next Fyfe. I disagree but he is looking like a likely draft bolter with his late-season form and decent performances for Peel in their WAFL finals/premiership. If West Coast can't get some swaps done I can see them crumbling and picking up at 3 in desperation of not wanting Freo to grab him with either of their first two picks where he'll most likely land.
  16. St Kilda have two top 10 picks?
  17. Young Blood replied to Oxdee's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
I think you answered your own question. He explores the idea then decides to stay at the dees like many players have done before. That's how I imagine that would go as it has often been in recent times. Not at all. It will have to be a multi-club deal in both situations I would imagine that will involve other clubs' first round picks and swaps of all kinds. Let the circus begin.

I've heard similar things from colleagues related to players at the club. There's so much that has happened behind the scenes since the hamstring injury last year. All will be revealed one day but probably not until players retire.
  19. Agree whole heartedly. Jimmy is one of my all-time favourite players and football people. Would be thrilled to have him at the dees in any capacity.

Back to the beginning? Ref: Playing for Mooroopna Cats in his junior years

Fair enough I guess your detailed stats say it all. Poor kick inside 50, doesn't kick goals (agreed and mentioned) and can't tackle or provide pressure.
  22. Young Blood replied to dazzledavey36's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Spargo isn't going to kick many goals. His highest was 18 in 2021, since then that numbers gone down and accuracy has always been iffy. Charlie's best position is as a hard running high HF where he can be link up player. There's an opportunity for him in this role now that ANB has left which I'd like him to push for. His strength has always been his vision, ball use going inside 50 and pressure/tackling. Hopefully a fit Spargo can push to get back into best 22 this year. The club obviously still rates him highly as they brought him in for opening round round this season even though he was underdone. (wrongly it turns out) But still.
  23. A touch dramatic here. Its a back up ruck role. As prime example on the weekend, as a back up ruck you only need to be solid and competitive to allow the mids to go to work.

If he does leave. Do you think you would support another club? Or just stop barracking for Melbourne?

I'm very interested if its a decent offer. Love Clarry but I just think we still have a window and need to take this sort of risk to really push for a flag again. Before Gus went down I was interested in a trade for Clarry. I just felt in 2023 there were number of games with Clarry out with injury where we looked much more dynamic with the Gus, Viney, Trac and Sparrow rotations. I think the current best midfielders have players now who can play both inside and outside. I think as a primary ball winner at the contest Clarry can still excel but when we've tried him on the outside or as a release player of late I think this is an area of his game that's gone down hill somewhat. Viney, Trac and now Rivers have a greater ability to win the ball and be more damaging with the next disposal AND be able to run and spread on the outside. If we could add a Peatling and another mid in the draft like a Langford I think with our current mix we could have so many options to finding a lethal midfield to match it with the best. A starting midfield of Trac, Viney, Rivers and Peatling. With depth/rotations of Kozzy, Sparrow, Windsor. Langford and eventually McVee. I'd be much more interested in this then another year with Oliver even at his fittest. Again not against the man. I think he'll go down as one of our greatest but just think a different mix will help us moving forward. Not to mention the salary side of things.
