  1. Let's not get carried away - I'd wait until we have confirmation they are returning at all before we get excited about dropping people.
  2. Sorry, are you joking?
  3. Sorry, did you miss the bit where we won 2-5 games a year for a decade? FCS.
  4. Makes much more sense! LOL. Well, clearly no I didn't. Thanks for enlightening me though.
  5. Dane Rampe, Jeremy McGovern and Rory Laird would be pretty handy in our backline right now. And Ceglar is pretty handy
  6. Oooo that's a yucky one.

Have a quick Google - he was pencilled in as the next captain right across the footy world, but I thought there had been some internal stuff which meant that he didn't get it. I could be remembering incorrectly!

He was their last captain too, until there was a player revolt and they gave it to Mundy.
  9. It was pretty huge and really gave them the belief that they could be headed late and get themselves back in front.

And the Oracle has spoken. Of course, in a new thread, not the zillion others we have for this exact topic.
  11. Just bad decision making today.
  12. That bump on Dawson was hilarious. It was like playing on a cardboard cut out. What made it so easy though, was that Jesse had worked Dawson so bloody hard he could hardly breathe, so had nothing left to give. Our boy is getting smarter about how to play the game all the time
  13. That's a GIF, by the way.
  14. Oh, go on. I'd have to do some actual work if I didn't have yours and Stuie's posts to read!

Another 100+ gamer out the door, to be replaced by a 5 gamer with potential. And so the cycle continues.
  16. Interesting though that he's in Perth on the same day that Roos gets in the press and tells everyone we won't be paying overs for him.
  17. You've said the same thing. And I'm not surprised you couldn't help trying to have the last word.
  18. Ah! So just quoting out of context without the rest of the discussion. Look, I'm not interested in getting into a patented Stuie nitpicky fight. I'll leave it there.
  19. I'd say that, right now, they still have a huge part to play in carrying that team, which is the point you are ProDee were discussing. We rely much more on good performances from guys with 0-50 games to win, whereas I'd say in almost every win St Kilda have, it is the older players who really step up and drive performance. We have guys like Oliver, Hogan, Kent, Harmes and Viney that are the variables when we win and lose. I think you've deliberately misunderstood me.
  20. I think the St Kilda older brigade are way ahead of ours. Montagna and Riewoldt alone just carry that club and have been the bridge between the old era and the new kids coming through. We don't really have that, although Vince and Jones are good. But if those two had retired a couple of years ago, the Saints would have really crashed in that time I think. We still rely on our young blokes to carry the team over the line a large proportion of the time.
  21. I completely agree - have been saying the same for about two years.
  22. Are people still going to complain about that run up and pretend Jesse isn't an accurate kick?
  23. Yep, all fair. Not sticking my head in the sand, but I still reckon he'll stay.
  24. A lot extra money is speculation at this point. He might love Perth but that will be overriden by playing for a good team. And it's Goodwin's plan that he loves, not Roos'. Freo are stuffed. You say they're not like Carlton, maybe they're even worse. Carlton have at least admitted they need to reset and are starting to come out the other side. Freo aren't even close to bottoming out yet, let alone rebuilding.
  25. I just can't see Hogan playing the next 5 years in a dismal Freo rebuild just to go home and make a bit of extra money. They are factors, but surely will be overriden in the end by the fact that Freo are in deep, deep [censored].
