  1. The conjecture is relative to the fact that the club and his management were openly reporting that 'contract extension' talks were underway. Had that not been the case, we probably wouldn't be having this discussion.
  2. I reckon the club would have been relieved when Hogans manager postponed talks to avoid the season long conjecture. It's the next best thing to re-signing.
  3. Not sure if this link has been posted before. Roos confirming the club also thought it best to postpone talks until end of season. Interesting that apparently 'others' out of contract are awaiting Hogan extending before resigning... McDonald and...? http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/melbourne/paul-roos-says-melbourne-agreed-to-put-jesse-hogan-contract-talks-off-until-seasons-end/news-story/cf578526fceee79b8767436ac126642e?from=herald%20sun_rss
  4. Still got 40 plus games MINIMUM as an MFC player. Media have given this far too much oxygen. No wonder Hogan has put off talks when round 1 is just around the corner. Feck me.
  5. There is coffee in Perth but it costs $38 a cup, relative to the general high cost of living here. Jesse will need a huge salary paid to him if he has ambitions of moving back to Perth, particularly if he loves a coffee.
  6. Big 4 caravan park experience at Armadale when you were 12 years old probably isn't a true reflection of the status quo, C&B.
  7. Had the shyte kicked out of me in Northbridge about 20 years ago. The nightlife scene is a difficult one to enjoy thanks to the violence over here. There's much nicer places to go to nowadays that are very family friendly. Let's see how Freo go.
  8. I'm a born and raised Victorian but love it over here. That said I still feel the pull of home every so often. Jesse is a competitor and wants a flag. In the grand scheme of things I truly believe we have a better core of youngsters to help him achieve that compared to Freo. I reckon they'll really slide this year.
  9. Which I find a little amusing to be honest. When did he leave Perth? He was a 17 year old and has spent the last 3 to 4 years in Melbourne. Sure he's had opportunities to experience Perth as an adult but not in the same way as Melbourne. Perth has heaps to do and a much nicer climate to do it in.
  10. A bit of man love fun between Hoges and Harmesy. Seriously though it does appear they are pretty tight mates. I think it was Harmes first goal last season that Jesse was super pleased and really got around him. https://instagram.com/p/BBtDFTRD5o-/
  11. It's more than that. All of those players were inducted into the MFC when the environment and culture was beginning its long and gradual erosion. Having the desire to perform well is one thing but if the workplace culture is shytes and giggles, it sets you up for failure. We bagged Scully at the time but if we are true to general commentary of that era, there's little wonder he was unimpressed - millions aside. JT is a competitor but was guided by loyalty, the same with Grimes. Its the development versus talent argument. You need to provide the environment to bring out the fierce competitor in people. We have that now.
  12. For me, it's clearly a by-product of the standards Viney is setting and the culture the club is trying to foster. I can remember watching training under Bailey and Neeld and the players were stuffing about by playing tricks and games on one-another throughout the session and individual drills. Where's your head at when you're behaving like that? What you do at training.... No wonder the coaches keep reinforcing the behaviour rhetoric. Viney could've been given instruction to ruffle Tommys feathers for all we know. The more competitive the team becomes, the more battle hardened individuals will need to become.
  13. ......and may extend again. Presumably from his RS interviews, the two are also very good mates.
  14. I think DA was drawing parallels regards their journey into AFL football and similarities with their careers. Cripps extends. Hogan....
  15. So Jesse has put on weight, he looks stronger, more confident, ready to improve on 2015. The most important re-signing there is...
  16. I just read through 3 pages until I found what I was wanting to say. Jack Viney is on record as saying Toump is a better player than Ollie. Let's make sure Jack doesn't follow in his old mans footsteps when it comes to list management.
  17. He had a 'box-seat' to that display didn't he Bitts. Doubt it'll be taken on board though.
  18. Either or, he's going to have far less time and space next year but there's no doubting Oliver's ability.
  19. Obviously they were the passages of play where he either got out traffic or dished it off to the best option. I'm sure he would've got pinned for HTB plenty of times as well. The impressive thing to me was he just seemed have that natural nous to dance his way out of congestion, rather than a JKH who tries admirably, but never looks comfortable in doing so.
  20. Goodness me, that kid will play senior footy next season. How many opposition players did he turn inside-out in that footage? Tough, composed, skilful and a fair dose of mongrel.
  21. Sheez. We didn't draft the kid so it's okay to hang crap on him, is it? I feel sorry for any kid that ends up at the dung heap.
  22. Wtf.. Where did I make that allusion?
  23. That same argument could be made for the Bombers with Daniher. Bombers might snare Wiedeman before our pick 7.
