I think they would be working overtime to appease the club behind the scenes, as we have always had a good working relationship with them, and overall are an 'easy' club to deal with at the trade table. I am also sure they would be working overtime to try and get Trac off the ledge. It just doesn't seem like he's listening to them. No self respecting management team would be advising him to do any of this.

I have no doubt they would discuss it. They have a gigantic portfolio of some of the best players in the league. They would not be taking kindly to the time consuming circus that Trac has created, nor will their other clients be very pleased that they are being pushed aside while this drama is going on. It is also further complicated by the fact that his brother works there.

I would bring in Gus, but of course that's solely dependant on how he's feeling and his ability to be the mediator. Maybe it's time Trac talked to someone who lost everything through an injury that the club hold no responsibility for, so he can understand how lucky he is to still have the ability to pull on the red and the blue. We all feel sad and horrified for what Trac went through, but it is no less horrible, nor will it have the same lifelong impact that Gus' injury has had. One has acted with nothing but complete respect and love for our club, and one has not.

AFL signed off on how his injury was managed. It is laughable to suggest that Trac didn’t say he wants to go back out and the doctor took this to me that he’s got nothing more than some broken ribs. I don’t support putting him back on the field, but let’s not pretend like this is something that never happens or Melbourne is solely to blame here. I’ve seen clubs allow players with clear head injuries back on the field. Not seeing those players try to burn their club as a result.

Nobody is shying away from the fact that we have issues that need to be resolved in every level of our club’s management. But no other player has acted this way against the club, in fact, who is the last big name who has requested a trade mid contract from our club? (ANB doesn’t count as he’s leaving for family reasons). This public relations stunt is on Trac and his personal team. It is not on the club. In fact, our club has been resolute in our desire to keep him and never denied that they want to address his concerns. We are not the ones burning him in the media.

Correct. How can anyone compare what happened to Essendon players to what Trac went thru is beyond me. Nobody forcibly dragged him back on the field. The first post he made on social media was to say he wanted to return to the field. That post was swiftly removed, assuming by the person controlling his social media account. Since then the AFL has cleared us of any wrong doing. He is not the first nor last player to return to the field with a serious injury. Hell he’s not even the first player to have a spleen injury go undiagnosed. As if the AFL is going to let one player unravel their entire medical protocol, especially while in the midst of concussion litigation! He needs to take a long walk and chill out. This is a complete meltdown, which could be explained by his trauma response. However it gives way too much leeway to the snakes working behind the scenes to manipulate him to their best interest, and not his!

I certainly don’t find it incomprehensible, I just think that someone who is so concerned with their brand would. This has nothing to do with his mental health. If it did, he’d be open to moving to any club. But he’s not. This is all about driving dollars into his brand while he sees a small window of opportunity to bail on his deal.

Our management may not have been completely acceptable, but if you’re talking about the substance issue, it was taken completely out of our hands. We can’t do anything about it beyond delisting said player. How else did you want us to manage that scenario? As for Clarry, did the club go too easy on him? Maybe they did. But the bottom line is that their care and support of him has seen him make a lot of progress in his recovery. It is a very complex issue, and you can argue that we shouldn’t have rushed him back into the side after his off season behavior. You can equally argue that playing AFL was the best thing for his mental health. It’s a fine line isn’t it? I said it before, but I’ll never begrudge our club for doing what they needed to go to bring Clarry back from a dark place. If that points to bad culture or bad management, I don’t want us to be right.

And as I said, trading out those 3 players, who are all contracted btw and may not want to leave or find a suitable home, is still not netting them the draft picks we would demand in return for Trac. We are not trading him for a bunch of second round picks are we? Carlton would need to: - Be out of finals contention - Go to those 3 players and convince them to be traded - Find a suitable trade for those 3 players - how often does a club get 3 trades done for contracted players in the same trade period? - On trade or bundle up the picks they get from those picks to get 2 or more top 10 picks - Do all this in the space of a month

Trac's trade value would be very high for a team on the cusp who needs a star midfielder to get them over the line. The Pies would benefit enormously from Trac given how old and injury prone most of their best midfielders are. But Trac's biggest issue is his timing. You can't expect someone with his contract and his talent to ask for a trade this late in the season, demand to only go to 1 of 2 clubs, who are both filled to the brim with salary cap guzzlers, and then make it happen. If he was open to going to North, Saints or even Richmond (who I don't think would want him anyway as they're rebuilding), it would be a totally different story. But he is not. So bad luck.

Firstly they can't part ways with contracted players, unless said contracted player agrees. Secondly, those 3 players still don't net them the picks we want in return for Trac. Let's also not forget that Carlton are preparing for finals. They are not going to bring this up with any of their players. If they get done in week 1, perhaps they will start conversations, but what happens if they make say a prelim? They will run out of time to make those deals.

You're kidding yourself if you think getting rid of Cerra clears enough space for Carlton to take on his contract. The reality is that very few top clubs have a spare $1.2 million lying around in the hope that one day Trac will have a breakdown and want out. Trades, even for middle tier players, are often planned out week, months, sometimes years in advance. You think Freo only talked to Jackson in October? You think the WA clubs have not been made aware that Shai Bolton wants out months if not 12 months ago? Hell we've been talking about Houston for a couple of months. Clubs would have been totally blind sighted by this, and clearly so has Trac's actual management team. To find a suitable trade to a club like Carlton or the Pies, or not only have the draft capital, but also don't have the cap space, is highly unlikely. Both these clubs would have to move a significant number of players, or a big name player, to even fit Trac in their TPP. It's a total pipe dream, unless one of those clubs is willing to burn their own contracted players.

You obviously don’t understand how mental health works. You cannot stop it before it gets out of hand. As for the other issue, you expect the club to know what each player is doing 24 hours pre game? Set up spy cameras perhaps? Entirely naive if you think this is a Melbourne specific problem. He just was stupid enough to get caught. But this happens in every single club around the country. Willie Rioli says hi. As does Stengel. And the list goes on and on. I will say no more as I don’t want to get this site in trouble. But do your research.
