Geelong need to miraculously get all their injured players back playing at their best to win the flag. They got very lucky with injuries last week and timed the resting of their stars perfectly. They don’t have the luxury this year to do that given where they are on the ladder.
If they go on a big winning streak now, I don’t think they’ll have much left in the tank to win it come September.
I still maintain that if Pies don’t go down by a point to the Swans in the prelim, Geelong don’t win the flag last year.
Going back to back is SO hard. It’s even harder when your list is as old as theirs and as heavily reliant on those aging stars.
