  1. I suppose Maynard knocking Cox out in friendly fire and the Pies losing by a point next week would be karma
  2. I would rather smear [censored] in my eyes
  3. Hot tip: go on a weekend away next Saturday.
  4. [censored] this season.
  5. I am so invested in the suffering of Collingwood
  6. It was bizarre for Port to roll out Butters and Rozee. Like does Grundy really care? So strange.
  7. Yze runs the box. He did that at Hawthorn too and nobody complained about Clarkson. We won a flag with Goodwin coaching from the bench. I understand we have just disappointingly lost two finals, but not everything the club does needs to be thrown in the bin.
  8. Gil rivaling John Farnham for longest farewell tour ever
  9. This thread is called TRADE RUMOURS, not only post things that are 100% going to happen. Part of the fun of the trade period is the wild rumours. Keep it up @Nudge
  10. Presumably because we are looking to trade pick 5 for an established player?
  11. Not against this if his body checks out, he’s happy to play backup and not get paid much. Realistically he won’t want that. At his age he will want game time and he is unlikely to get that at Melbourne ahead of Gawn. Can we play forward? 😂
  12. Great news for him and well deserved. He’s served a long apprenticeship under some great coaches and has been involved in multiple flags. Wishing him all the very best!
  13. This is the 10th thread on the main board basically questioning the same thing over and over again. The assumption that we don’t review things is wrong. Simple as that. We review everything all the time. Every football club does.
  14. Newsflash, they do an internal review every single year. Or do you think they've packed their bags and gone off to Bali? So little credit being given to a club that has finished top 4 for three years running, and won a flag just two years ago.
  15. Agreed. Gawn did not hold up his end of the bargain. It also did not help that he got injured early, was slow to get back to full fitness, and when he played forward it was wet and windy. I actually thought he impacted the contest up forward against Carlton, but his goal kicking is an abomination. He is just not a forward. Neither is Grundy. Our desperate need to get a tall forward working, thanks to injuries to Tmac, BB and then Petty and then Melksham, meant that we tried to force a square peg into a round hole. It did not work, and having a million dollar bench player who can't do much else but ruck, is a luxury we cannot afford. Grundy can't play forward, but he also can't play behind the ball or take a contested mark like Gawn. Which means he can only do one thing, and that is be a first choice ruck. But is he as good a first choice ruck as Gawn? No he is not. Having said all that, the reality is that Gawn is 32 next season. He has had a long history of knee issues. He cannot go on forever, and the irony is that if Grundy did not choose to leave, he would probably end up getting a lot more game time next year.
  16. Not to mention reduced his trade value significantly. Who would want to bring in a player who cracks it and doesn't want to play in a final to help his side win?
  17. The Sparrow and Hunter suspensions were total BS. Sparrow with a borderline dangerous tackle with suspect vision, and don't even get me started on the Hunter suspension debacle. Absolute rubbish. Kosi and JVR need to do better. Silly hot headed moments that cost us dearly.
  18. Because he’s young, he’s shown he can play consistently on the wing and as an inside mid and he will cost another club nothing. Why wouldn’t you, if you’re a club who needs some more contested ball winners?
  19. I don’t think they will be. They play a fast attacking contested footy that the Pies don’t like. Pies missing Adams as well, making them even more vulnerable in the contest. I am not saying GWS will definitely win, but they’re a strong chance IMO.
  20. Neither. We normally have a bbq with friends and watch the grand final, but if it’s a Collingwood Carlton grand final I won’t even turn the tv on.
  21. His performance last Friday showed us why he’d struggle to get a consistent game in our side. He was just ok but he isn’t damaging. He’s behind Oliver, Viney, Trac, Gus and Sparrow. That’s a lot of talent to sit behind and hope something changes.
  22. All the best to JJ. From rookie to playing a role in our premiership year.
  23. I watched us do the pre game warm up on Friday night and Joel Smith could not hit the side of a barn. The rest all nailed every shot. Didn’t that work out during the game 😂
  24. He definitely wasn’t alone. He’s also our captain. I’ve seen him kick clutch goals before. That was not good enough. The club will be ruing the putrid goal kicking thar cost us 4 points during the season, a top 2 finish, and ultimately finals and a chance at a flag.
