Jake Lever on the couch
The way they argue just shows how much they care. I don’t like May having a go at the younger players, but he and Lever lead that backline and their passion and perfectionism is what makes them the best defensive duo in the league. They always want to get better and bring everyone else with them. Our backline has saved our [censored] so many times in the last few years. They are absolutely the hallmark of our team.

2024 MRO & Tribunal
Two weeks ago Lever is in the wrong for flopping his head and Cameron gets off because he’s a good bloke. Higgins does the same thing, Aliir unfortunately is knocked out and he cops 3. Madness. Both actions deserve one week.

NON-MFC: Round 07
Geelong’s refusal to die is absolutely infuriating. I also despise Carlton tho, so this is a neutral result.

NON-MFC: Round 07
Geelong move the ball with so much precision and they use it better. That’s been the difference. Certainly need to be at our best skills wise next week to win.

NON-MFC: Round 07
Have had for the last 20 years. Their fixture alone will get them into finals pretty much every year

No chance Danger plays next week if he’s got even a slight hamstring awareness. With his history and at his age, they won’t risk it.

Hit on Clarry
It’s about our society accepting these types of clearly violent behaviors. The reality is that footy players are looked up to and idolized by many people, especially young men. When we laugh off and not punish pure thuggery and are accepting of it, we are signaling that this type of behavior is also acceptable off the field. Our society is not nearly hard enough on violence, especially towards women. This notion that boys will be boys, is so wildly accepted in the AFL, and unfortunately in the wider society too. We [censored] on about the illicit drug problems in the AFL, but are totally fine to let players gut punch each other off the ball… because that’s not at all sending the wrong message!

Hit on Clarry
The fact that the AFL lets this type of stuff go, and commentators laugh off this type of behaviour, is not lost on me as I watch yet another woman be killed at the hands of a man. We do not do enough to eradicate this type of [censored] “boys will be boys” behavior in footy, and it’s very much reflected in our society too. Punching someone in the guts off the ball should never be allowed. It does nothing for our game and it’s the easiest non football action to judge and punish players for. The Pendelbury defense of “I was provoked” is up there with the “she was asking for it” defense. Putrid.

POSTGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond
I watched the first half after working some VPN magic then had to board a flight. I could tell we were a smidge off with execution but I was so sure we would open the game up in the second half and win. Imaging landing and seeing that’s exactly what happened, getting a text from my dad to say nobody was injured, and then coming to Demonland to see the wrist slashing. Worst game we’ve ever played? Surely anyone who says that has only lived max 4 years. I am looking forward to watching the second half of the worst game ever.
