A very disappointing midfield display and the entries going inside 50 are an absolute mess. We can still win this, make no mistake, but we need to start dominating the midfield and get some easier entries going forward.

I went to the Carlton game and I was just numb. Considering the ramifications of the loss, I literally couldn’t care less. I was ready for 2023 to end the minute Maynard was free to play.

I was already emotionally dead after the Collingwood final, that this loss meant nothing to me. After what happened against Collingwood the entire season was done and dusted as far as I was concerned. That we lost the next final because we couldn't kick straight, and also had JVR suspended while Maynard went free, is something I totally blocked out.

Because we don't have the same fire power as Carlton, who have not one but two Coleman medallists. I mean of course we can win a shootout, but it's not a game style that we are comfortable with, and it greatly reduces our chances of winning. We need this to be a contested slog. If we can't have the game on our terms, it's going to be very hard to win. Offensively they are a very very good side.

Good to see that he is universally hated. He really is an awful umpire, one of the absolute worse in terms of consistency, or lack thereof. I will not bet on who wins tonight, but I will bet my house on Carlton winning the free kick count comprehensively.

I too am not confident. I was much more confident last week, or it could have just been blind hate leading to delusion. Carlton’s midfield worries me far more than Geelong’s entire team does. If they get enough clean ball inside 50 from stoppage, then unfortunately even our best-in-league backline won’t be able to stop them scoring. 5 day break on top of them getting some quality players back, and I’m more nervous than a fart in a perfume shop.

Also coming off a very hot game which they disappointingly lost at the death. They will be feeling the pressure, whereas we will be feeling confident after our win against Geelong. This is another genuine 50/50 contest. Carlton have had the better of us the last two times we met, especially in and around the ball. I hope our mids rise to the occasion and have a really strong game against Carlton's formidable midfield, as there is no doubt that winning contest is their game plan.

Yes she absolutely does, and all the time she gives back to the club and Demonland is done free of charge and in her spare time. This is up there with the complaint we had about the podcast. Just get on with your life if you don't like the FREE content you are being provided. Also @WalkingCivilWar has said many many times before that reporting on the ins and outs of training and specifics is not her forte, and that she is there to provide some light hearted commentary and any inside intel she may get from the players. Last week she told us Bowser will play against Carlton, which was a scoop, and turned out to be spot on. Why people are now complaining about the content of her training reports, is beyond me. I love a detailed training report as much as the next person, but equally I love the insights and funny anecdotes that we get as well. There is room for both.

Imagine the nerve of people complaining about someone providing them with free info from training that they took time out of their own lives to do. This is not @WalkingCivilWar job, she’s doing it for fun and to give something back to Demonland. If you don’t like the content of the thread, don’t read it. I swear Demonland has become a collective for complaining.
