CASEY: Rd 16 vs Essendon VFL
He may well retire especially if he has another calf injury. Not sure how we fill all the list space we are likely to have, especially as we donāt currently hold a second round pick. At the very least we will have spots left by Gus, Smith and a retiring Ben Brown (canāt see him getting another contract). Schache is unlikely to have his contract renewed. Then you have Tomlinson as well, and thatās not even taking into account that Tmac may retire (hopefully not, but he was set to retire heading into this season), plus other delistings such as Hunter. Given we rarely pick beyond round 3 of the draft, we will need to find some decent free agents or get some trades happening to fill those vacancies. At least we have debuted plenty of youngsters this season to allow us to make some good calls on their future. I was sure AMW would be delisted, but heās proved me totally wrong!

The only thing that may work in his favour is that we already will have a large list turnover. They may keep him on if heās willing to take a small contract, as we do lack depth in the midfield. He is not a bad depth player, but culturally heās a liability.

Iāve heard very similar and I donāt read BigFooty. Hard to see him retained on the list beyond this season.

He should be getting 6 touches a quarter at that level, at a minimum, while playing midfield.

What they are saying at Windy Hill
Do they also think Petty was the wrong choice to ruck? š

100% TOG. The man is superhuman. By the way, Petty returning from a horrible foot injury with 0 pre season and hamstring awareness a week ago, and is expected to ruck against a really good solid ruckman. The pile on is insane. Roo was always going to do better given he trained to do backup rucking all pre season under Gawn while Petty was riding a scooter with a foot in a moonboot.

AMW getting subbed off was purely about fitness. We had a lot of kids running on a very heavy track. I expected us to run out of gas to be honest. Did not help making the sub and then immediately losing Rivers for 10 minutes to a shoulder jab and strap. Also McVee running rings around Porky Stringer was delightful.
