Jaded No More

I find it extra alarming that despite having a good outing from some of our best mids, and having 19747 more inside 50s that we got demolished by 80 points. Where is the 81 point improvement going to come from? We’ve been worked out and it’s round 2. Ring the alarm.

Last week I thought we lost because all of our best players had a shocker. And I thought this would never happen again. Tonight Oliver, Viney and Brayshaw were all at their regular output and we got destroyed. It’s a real worry as we still have far too many poor footballers in our team and too many inconsistent players. I worry about where we are going this season.

I do and then when we came up against an actual contender we got flogged and we haven’t won a game since. The team we beat in a final just flogged us like a dead horse. We won nothing in 2018 and 2019 looks like it will be much the same.

Trade. Cut your losses. Don’t wait until he has no value like Watts.

Goodwin will be full of excuses, because this club loooooves an excuse. We had a short pre season. Boo hoo. We played finals and now we are unfit. Boo hoo. Cry me a [censored] river Melbourne. Let’s continue not to ever compete in September and have long and healthy pre seasons.

And the worst part? We have not a single good player waiting to come into this side in the near future. Lever is weeks away. And other than Lever we haven’t got one player out who will make us a significantly better team.

The fact that I have so little faith in Goodwin only makes it worse. I hope like hell I am wrong, but god this feels like the beginning of another season from hell and I’m so tired. The crap this club continues to serve its supporters and members is a disgrace.

And to add salt to our wounds, the umpires are of course incredibly rigged and ripping us a new one

So far it seems that we: 1- have no forwardline 2- have lost our ability to win contested footy 3- have gotten slower 4- are carrying way too many injured or unfit players 5- one of our captains is cooked 6- Fritsch, Petracca, Harmes and ANB have gone backwards big time 7- Gawn is sick/unfit/out of form Have I missed anything?

Petracca is horrible. Needs to go to the VFL and learn to take a mark. Oliver is the only player I want near the ball. The rest are VFL standard.

How are we always outnumbered?

Petracca isn’t a forward’s ar$ehole and yet he is always 2-on-1 by himself up forward. Why?

Well at least Viney isn’t cooked. Looks much better than last week.

This is the sort of [censored] that makes you really angry. A guy taking a 70m run without anyone getting near him. We are so slow. This really is season over stuff.

We are easy to beat. Goodwin got a new long term deal, he better come up with a way to make us competitive against teams that know how to nullify our contested game, and he better do it fast. Salem on Ablett a total waste of the only player in our side who can hit a target.
