Window is firmly and truly shut if Clarry is traded. Wonder how the likes of Max and Jack who have re-committed feel about spending the remainder of their careers without a flag chance.
-
It’s well known that Butters refuses to settle down in Adelaide. Won’t buy a house, is not in a serious relationship etc. He wants to be back in Victoria one day.
-
If you were planning on moving to WA, wouldn’t you spend this time looking at houses, jobs for your partner, daycare for your baby etc instead of enjoying spending time in Darwin? Or is he moving to play in Darwin?

Melbourne will also be paying 90% of his salary and taking on Jazza’s farming bill too.

McClure has done it again 😂

That surprises me too. I wonder if the review has something to do with it.

I promise you there is 0% chance we trade Clarry to make Trac happy. It’s the fastest way to make the rest of the list very very unhappy.
-
Clubs would first need to convince Clarry to leave, which won’t happen. Clarry is committed and loves the club. He has 0 interest in leaving. He will only leave if the club forced him to.

Rory Sloane to the Dees as Assistant Coach?
Jaded No More replied to petzy's topic in Melbourne Demons
Could be coming in to do more of a mentoring role or development role like Conca. Doubt he’d be stepping into the midfield coaching role which is our most senior assistant position. -
So he would rather North than us? Stuff him then
-
No doubt Jake wouldn't think twice about leaving his two daughters behind and moving interstate. The man is trash.
-
Because he's not interested in coming to us, or because it's unlikely we will meet Port's demands in a trade? I wonder how much Port will soften now that he's all but requested a trade. They would think we would finish below Carlton next year, making our F1 more appealing, and if we can get another 1st rounder via Brisbane or by packaging up the pick we get for ANB, we might be getting closer to the mark.

Nathan Bassett to Dees as Forwards Coach?
Jaded No More replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Soft cap will only be an issue if we remove someone from the FD who is contracted, aka Richardson. If we don't, then we shouldn't have issues with our soft cap. Goodwin is not exactly the highest paid coach around, and losing Stafford and McQualter has opened up cash to pay new assistants. -
Angus Brayshaw Forced into Retirement
Jaded No More replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Humiliating them is the only way to go. Beating them by 1 point will give them excuses to say they should have won. Belting them will leave them with no doubt that we are much better than they are. -
He'd be liking the bank balance
-
I reckon if we can get the Lions first round pick for pick swap to help them with points for Ashcroft, that he might look to trade that pick and a F1 for Houston which would trump Carlton’s offer.

Andrew McQualter - Appointed coach of the West Coast Eagles
Jaded No More replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
It opens up a role for someone else, who is looking to step into a senior position, as our midfield coach is generally the '2nd in charge' on gameday and runs the box. The last two men who had this role ended up in a senior coaching position shortly after. There would be lots of great assistants who would love this same opportunity. I would like to see Cameron Bruce offered that role, but I am sure there are others. -

Well done to him. That's a fantastic achievement, and once again one of our own has been appointed a senior coach. Speaks volumes about our ability to develop assistant coaches and give them the rounded experience they need to become head coaches. -
Missed half a season after injuring his shoulder wrestling a teammate in a drunken off season incident. Then sulked about missing the grand final. Not exactly leading by example.

But, topless pictures of him would grow our social media presence immediately 😂

How typically Melbourne Brodie Grundy
Jaded No More replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ruckman are the least important part of a premiership team…. Unless you ruckman happens to be Max Gawn (or Dean Cox). Many teams have won with mediocre rucks who just gave a physical contest, and Sydney would have lost just as badly yesterday if Fort was their ruckman instead of Grundy. -
A big shout out to the Big O. Carried himself beautifully in the face of real adversity. The pure joy on his face was really great to see, as well as the way he celebrated with Fort. A wonderful teammate. Total opposite to Mills who had a year to forget from a leadership standpoint.
