AFL working hard to get Carlton to finals

Gold Coast is 90 levels above North. You literally cannot compare these two sides.

I’m worried about how flat Carlton are. Last week was a very hard game. I hope we don’t come out this flat.

And Jeff White’s kid is a chance if he continues to develop. Great ruckman aren’t essential to winning flags. Max is so much more than a great ruckman which is why he is essential to us right now.

No team has done that and went on to win the flag. It’s absolutely not what McRae was wanting. I do not care what anyone says, no coach wants their team struggling in August. Doubt starts creeping in and suddenly you aren’t the scary proposition everyone thought you were. Pies in particular, have lost their greatest advantage in the last month. Teams no longer fear them. They no longer worry about getting overrun from any position. They’ve shed their cloak of invincibility. Which leaves them as just another good side in contention.

God so many players I’ve completely forgotten about. Seeing Sylvia in the team song was so sad. And funny to think Green was still playing when Gawny debuted.

He’s gone off to get tested

Big difference in quality between Lions and Dons don’t you agree? Pies defense is poor, especially without Moore, but their real issue is their midfield. It is not great, especially without Daicos.

Agreed. And they will need the win to prove to themselves that they’re still the team to beat. If they lose to Essendon it’ll be a disgrace.

So if you just heard Richo, he said no side in the last decade has lost more than 2 games between round 17 and 23 and went on to win the flag. This is the Pies third loss. AFL is all about being up at the right time given how long and grueling our game and season is. Pies have hit their worst form in August. Terrible timing.

Lucky for them they play Essendon. No chance.

So you think they aren’t trying two weeks out from finals? Rubbish. They have nothing in the tank. Not even the air of invisibility that they had a month back.

A hot head big mouth. They have no leadership if this is the best they can do without Moore.

Just how these two teams like it. They’ll be found out in finals if they don’t tighten up their defensive work all over the ground.

Statistically impossible

Honestly who cares? I think it’s crazy that in 2023 we still don’t have players who feel comfortable enough to be themselves. Sad that there are likely dozens of AFL players who are hiding their sexuality for fear of not being accepted.

I don’t think we want to play Gawn behind the ball until finals. We don’t want teams planning for it, or Max copping the endless physical hits until then either.

If Moore isn’t back in top shape in finals they are cooked. They are already a poor defensive side. Add to that their risky ball movement and they just cannot defend turnovers.

This game couldn’t be more different to our game last week versus Carlton.

Pies tanking? What the hell is this choice of sub?

I was hoping AMW would get a run purely because I love his pace. But I guess the FD don’t think he’s ready. Fascinating times ahead. A few players who need a big game on Sunday if they want any chance of playing finals.

Hibbo can’t be sub he wasn’t in the extended side. Smith will play permanent forward. Tommo goes back. Smith will have to remain forward the entire time as JVR will be second ruck.

Wow Laurie is left field two weeks out from finals. I was sure Spargo was a shoe in. Interesting to see what role he plays.
