@Ghostwriter how come May had his exit interview so late? or did he have a second one following King’s appointment? Do you think the person who accidentally leaked it is someone who has leaked previously, or someone totally random who made a genuine boo boo?

I have my suspicions about who is leaking, but I don’t know for sure and I can’t work out the motives. Either way there is only one person who has remained at the club in a senior role for the last few years. If they are indeed the leak, they need to be terminated immediately.

Brown's body was cooked at 28, hence why he retired at 31. Mihocek began his career later than most, similar to Fritta. He is still fairly physically robust, and is a proven goal kicker. The chances of Melky getting through a whole season are slim. He will need regular breaks to get through. Mihocek will be our second best forward, and will take heat away from JVR and hopefully Kentfield, and allow Petty to return to defense. It's a yes from me.

To be fair, they've had a war chest for ages, and failed constantly to attract top talent. Other than NWM, who else on their list is getting paid well? Max King is on a long term deal, but on lower dollars. They would have cap space, especially since Nasiah only re-signed for 2 years. I reckon he's gone for all money if they don't improve significantly over the next 24 months.

That's some history re-writing. How many clubs passed Morris, not once, but twice? To say we should have recruited him instead of Kolt in the first round is a bit rich. No other club did either. And we had Holmes in our sights, but got beaten to it by Geelong who had a pick prior to ours. You can't do much about that.

I believe as this is a criminal case, there is a lot that can't be written in the media until his case goes to trial. So it's a legal matter. Still, lets remember that journalists don't reside in Geelong, and anyone who does is a mad Cats fan. So who is filming or reporting players doing naughty things in the bubble of Geelong? Nobody. That really helps when players behave badly. You can't tell me that ol' Smithy was caught more than once on camera doing the nose snow while at the Dogs, but has totally changed his ways since moving to the farm... please!

I am not sure how true the Scarlett info is. He has been out of the game for a while, and he has some detractors. IMO King will look to poach assistants who are currently working elsewhere, be it other AFL clubs, VFL or other league levels

Comparing May to JUH is crazy talk. May was captain of the Suns, an AA, a premiership player. Yes he's had some issues, but he's also played 250 games, which is not something you achieve by being a total disaster off the field, hanging out with the wrong people, not turning up to the club etc etc. May has a young family, and is still hungry for success. JUH has no idea if he's coming or going, and has publicly trashed people. He is a nightmare. We need to show May a lot more respect than to put him in the same bucket as JUH!

Of course not, but Goody loved May. I think now is the right time to move him on. He won't get any better, his speed is declining, and culturally he is hit and miss. I love May, he's one of my favourites. Lovely guy, ultra competitive, a great teacher, but ultimately he has his problems. As a veteran he doesn't bring the same level of professionalism and leadership that we get from Tmac and Melksham, and I also don't think he will be the type that takes playing for Casey on the chin. Plus if another club gives him 2-3 year deal, it helps his family financially and good on him for getting it if he can. He would be a perfect fit for the Dogs.

Yes it was optics, but the differences was that Hunter had no suitors and did actually retire. Hence we never announced publicly that he’s been told to go elsewhere. We wouldn’t be doing this public announcement via the media if we didn’t think May had somewhere to go

Hunter retired. Very different. I don’t think May will be delisted. He would have suitors who for the right price will take him and his salary on. It wouldn’t be a massive salary anyway given he extended for just one year.

No May no flag. He was enormous for us for many many years. He’s reaching the end now, and if he can get himself a longer deal elsewhere to secure a better future for his partner and child, then I wish him all the very best. Loved everything he brought to the club, including his unapologetic attitude to success.

Clarry is not going anywhere anyway. We all know why he even contemplated leaving and met with Geelong. The reason is now long dead. I’m not so sure about Trac. Last year I would have said no way in hell he leaves Victoria. But I wonder how much he’s changed after going thru what he did. Maybe a fresh start with Bella, is what he wants. After all they spend a fair amount of time away in Noosa so maybe the sun and lifestyle of the Gold Coast appeals more now. He rightfully has one eye on the future, as anyone his age and having gone thru such a bad injury would have. He knows nothing is promised in the game.
