Firstly I wasn’t referring to you. It may have started as a footy action but it resulted in a horrible injury, which as you say should carry consequences. Secondly I haven’t seen anyone suggests what Gus suffers from. All I’ve ever said is that Gus’ fiancé buried her dad due to head injuries and her mother is suing the AFL. Both of which are on record. And you are right, anxiety and depression and a whole host of other mental health issues are more often than not totally unrelated to head trauma, and many people live with those awful conditions but have never copped so much as a ball to the head in a game of backyard cricket. But it has been proven that repeated head trauma can lead to both of those things sadly. Shane Tuck and Spud Frawley are the saddest examples of this.

We can but I don’t think we will. A week for that is pretty right. It was definitely not a necessary action, and McStay had to go to the rooms for an assessment. I’d give him a trophy if he did it to Cox tho. Wasn’t worth it on McStay, he’s a spud.

But it’s ok because Maynard is his mate 🙄🤮😡 All these heroes on this site and in the media declaring this a footy action. Well this unnecessary brutal action may have just cost a player in his prime his career. A player whose brother got king hit and had his jaw broken in an AFL game. A player whose fiancé buried her father as a result of head injuries. A player who has never once pulled out of a contest, knowing full well it could be his last. A player who was wide open, kicking a football, and had no right to be hit by a thug going for maximum impact in an attempt to “spoil”. I wished Maynard ill last night. I now wish that he misses finals and sits in the guilt of what he’s done. I hope that guilt and missing finals eats him alive and ruins his career.

It’s the hope that kills you. I was very hopeful of success this year. Now I would be surprised if we don’t go out in straight sets.

Considering his MIL is suing the AFL, I suggest she won’t either.

This can’t surely be it. He’s had a really good run with injuries and is playing some of the best football of his career. Can take a whole pre season and rest and get better. I truly hope this is not the outcome.

Remember last week when a few people were mad that we pulled players out of the Casey final and not a week later we are facing 2 forced changes in pivotal roles. This is why, and thank goodness we did that!

Photos of Gus’ shiner, documents about his previous condition, impact to his and his family’s well being following this nasty collision. Bury this thug and bury his club. Hope he misses finals and it burns in his guts forever. Payback for all the cowardly thug acts he’s committed over the years, including this one that could end the career of an actually BRAVE player who plays the ball. Not the man.

All these love heart Instagram posts from our players referencing Gus is definitely not comforting me or leading me to believe that he’s ok. Fingers crossed he will be fine and this won’t impact his career like it has before.

No doubt the process is muddy and rubbish and inconsistent. I think it's hard to argue that Maynard's intention was not to hurt Gus. As I said earlier, did he want to concuss him? Probably not. Did he want to hurt him? Absolutely. He has form, a lot of it, he said during the week he is going to go hard and hurt us. Did he hope to impact the kick? Sure. Did he see an opportunity to smash into Gus hard at the same time by turning his body into him? 100% yes.

I'm giving myself a self imposed ban this weekend. I am not watching any games. My mental health needs a break.

So Hunter got a week for 'hitting' Butters who went on to have 900 touches and win the game. Maynard should get off tho because we should be letting players just play the game?
