  1. Haha, that's the only reason. I don't want him to be jinxed from the get-go! Numero Uno for me. Come the end of next year, we'll mostly have him there in our eyes anyway far as I'm concerned.
  2. Can't see it happening. I'd prefer Joel Mac that Warnock for sure. Would be more than happy with that, but would be super unhappy with taking any of the blokes on there off. Normally I'd just let the "Like" feature say it, but very well said Deestroy. I was all up and about at the thought of Dawes, and now I'm all, "Dawes who??" Or negativity. Lets just all enjoy this little win FFS. I understand the need to avoid the seemingly inevitable feeling of being massively let down, but this preseason has been stellar so far, just enjoy it. Lord knows we haven't had much to celebrate this year, so just let it loose and enjoy peeps
  3. I fully expect (and maybe I'm building myself up for a fall here) that 2012 will be the antidote to 2011. I'm not suggesting for a second that we'll win the flag, but I fully expect that our boys will put in a performance worthy of the faith that we as supporters place in them, and one which will not erase, but at least ease the pain of, 2011. As rpfc says, window still intact!
  4. Why 10 desks of course Loving this trade, loving that we won for once, loving that Freo can suck eggs, loving that our club is attractive........ loving it all!
  5. Any worry for Martin is just misguided IMO. I think that Melbourne has recruited Clark as a forward, not a Ruck. Jamar and Martin can handle themselves up front, but they are never going to rip it up. Mitch Clark will be able to fill that role. It may take a bit of forward training focus, but he will do it. Can't wait
  6. Of course Clark has agreed to it. If he doesn't want to play for the MFC he can nominate for the Draft or PS Draft. I have no knowledge whatsoever as to what changed his mind (other than the $$$$) but as long as he gives his all to the MFC, then I am absolutely ecstatic with this pick up. I watched his game in Rd 1's 2 pt loss to Freo, and prior to getting knocked out he was absolutely stellar. I said to my mate,"geez I'd love it if he played for the Dees', and whaddayaknow IMO, this is a really good get!
  7. If Beamer keeps playing as he does, as this midfield gels around him, he is going to be a deadset, consistent weapon. Big fan and look forward to watching him mow down one Tom $cully next year
  8. Ludicrous suggestion, I must say! The kid is a natural, which is his gift, and at AFL level, also his problem. Because he grew up playing such a natural, uncoached game style, it will take him longer to adjust to what is required at AFL level. I really feel that Bailey went about LJ in the wrong way (no info, just a feeling) as his game has slowly gone down, not up. He will be one who I think will benefit greatly from our new coaching staff and FD structure. Not yet an out and out star, but if managed correctly, a shoe in for the future.
  9. You know this, or you're just posturing?
  10. Big fan of Colin. Would like to see him work on his body language a bit when the chips are down as it is terrible, but considering that's the worst I have to say about his game, then I reckon it's fair to say we uncovered a gem there. Looking forward to him and Chip really cementing themselves as a backline to be feared throughout the competition in the coming years.
  11. I sure hope you are right there Biffen, however I don't see that Maric will be one of them. It's pretty fair to say that Wonna has had fair reason for not stepping up. And I am not referring so much to this season, but his constant injuries prior. And this year was an aberration due to terrible circumstances. I have no doubt that if he gets a good uninterrupted preseason into him, and can play most games next year, he will return to the Wonna we loved in 2008.
  12. I can't disagree with the sentiments from BB59 above. Some of us have these fanciful notions of loyalty in footy, and I'm guilty as much as the next bloke, but those days are long gone. And unfortunately in all of this, the only people who show the loyalty here are the supporters. Not the club, not the players and not the officials. Just us. So surely it is fair to expect that when we put money into a club, which doesn't really offer anything in return, the people who are very well paid and priviliged to play for the club are expected to perform to a level which is in the vicinity of what they are paid. I have enjoyed Brads career and cheered him on a million times, and I hope like all hell he remains at the club, but he has not done himself any favours as far as receiving special treatment this year and that is just the way that it is. Captain does not become him, so lets just go back to the way things were and hopefully this releases some pressure so that he can relax a bit more and concentrate on performing to the level that we need him to, and the level that he needs to for the sake of his own career.
  13. Haha, that's cause it's barely been sung since 2006
  14. [censored] Sounds like it would have been a fun night! Just please tell me that the Dees boys weren't strutting around at night with their shirts off like some kind of heroes like the Norf gooses I saw there a couple of years ago.
  15. I hope that Ricky is one of the players who Neeld can get under the skin of. When on fire he is absolutely fantastic. His record tackling game this year was the perfect example of what he is capable of, and his goalkicking and marking against the Filth in the 1 point loss last year was another fantastic effort. Needs to get some consistency in these results, but is an extremely capable player. Look forward to seeing more from him.
  16. Love Grimesy, he's a class act on and off the field. Unfortunately up until now it has mostly been off the field. I look forward to him being able to string a season together. He will be an exceptionally useful player when this occurs, and one of a couple potential Captains in waiting.
  17. Can't agree at all Lutz. The amount of times I have seen him doing anything to avoid kicking the ball. It's even to the point that the commentators joke about it regularly. I should admit though that I shouldn't comment on the quality of his kicking, as it is something I rarely ever see, but he quite obviously doesn't have confidence in it. I don't understand how you can't see that, but to each their own.
  18. Going to have a hard time staying in the game at this rate. When on fire, he has the ability to offer alot to the side, but the fact that these instances are ever so rare and fleeting means that he has pretty well done his dash. There is many other players on our list that I would prefer our new coaching staff to concentrate on fixing.
  19. Got a lot of love for Jordie. The grunt in our midfield for sure. My only gripe is terrible kicking and insistence upon doing anything other than kicking. Sometimes when searching for a handball rather than a kick he really ups the pressure on himself. We have got ourselves a star in this kid, and if they can teach him to kick and have confidence in his kicking, we will have a deadset superstar.
  20. I don't disagree Choko, but footy is a harsh mistress. He has a pretty decent list, and I don't think it is unfair for the powers that be at Richmond to expect some involvement in September. Now if that doesn't happen, and a former Tiger such as MM is a free agent, I won't discount the relatively high probability that discussions will take place. Doesn't mean I agree with it. Just that I feel that is the way footy goes these days.
  21. Touche RR, touche. I, too, hope Beamer heeds his own advice. However, I hope it more for Col due to how damaging he could be, and I don't think anyone can really question Beamers drive and motivation. They can definitely be forgiven for asking such questions re Col.

    Neil Craig

Sensational interview. I love the way both he and Neeld have made reference to the history of the club, and also the passion of those involved in the recruitment process. Cynics out there may suggest that it is orchestrated to portray a unified vision of the club, but I prefer to believe that they say it because it is true. I love the way he speaks about the opportunity to learn off Craig Bellamy and others around as well, because even though we follow the greatest football code there is, there is still lots that can be learned through sharing of information and ideas. Exciting times people
