  1. Oh boy, I'm excited. The thought of moving Sylvia on for a bloke who has talent but actually uses it on the regular sends me into a spin Daisy is absolutely essential to go after as well, as with any top flight mid going around that is even half a shot.
  2. Absolutely think that Watts should be locked up ASAP. I'm not of the school of thought that it should happen to secure a bargain, as I believe he should be fairly paid for what he brings to the table, but the distraction that these things can cause throughout a season is too big a burden to bear, as we've all seen this before and it ain't pretty, haha. I definitely think he will prove himself this year. Whilst not expecting a breakout, I believe that it will be a year where he does enough to silence most of the doubters (albeit the most voracious of them will probably never be swayed regardless of whatever he may do). Come on Killa, show us what you're made of!
  3. Loving seeing that there is some fresh air about. I am honestly not too sure about Dawes, but that said he wants to come to us and that's a bloody big step toward making me like him. I really feel alot like how I felt last year when we got Mitch. Desite all our problems and issues, the club as a whole is able to target and successfully attract the players that they want, and considering our year, I must say I am quite pleasantly astounded by this. It is nice to feel positive again, isn't it.
  4. He has been a very serviceable pick up for mine. He can definitely make some improvements, but I feel that if he keeps going on the path that he has taken so far, he will prove his worth, as he has done a few times this season.
  5. I stopped watching the show this year due to Roos. As a player and a coach, I mostly thought he was great, and admired him as such. Now that we have got to "know' him a bit more, he has lost me completely. Never a more up himself commentator have I come across. It's funny that I hated Hird as a player, but as a commentator on OTC I really came to respect him and listen to him due to his proper critique of the game and his relatively balanced views. Pretty much the polar opposite to Roos and his arrogant views. I wonder, were the Swans "irrelevant" back in the day when they were shite??? No they weren't and they obviously are well and truly not now. So are the MFC irrelevant now, no they are not. Paul Roos can F off for all I care, cause I've had him up to my ears!
  6. Stupid thing to do by Howie, and probably dodged a bullet there, but bloody hell I'm stoked! Him and his hangers are about the only thing that keeps me sane through these dark days.
  7. I agree with the general gist of this thread, but just remember that as recently as early last season, there was a rather loud majority that were certain one Nathan Jones would never amount to anything more than a bit player. Therefore I say that it is way to early to make that call on James Magner. With Beamer, we know what we have and he would get a run with most teams. Bennell and Jetta have the ability to become very good, and I have no doubt that a team such as the Swans, who have an amazing ability to recycle and get the best out of players would succeed with them. The thing with that is that it means they would probably have some trade currency, but at the same time we need to find a way to get the best out of these blokes, not get the shits with them and delist them for others to develop, otherwise we will never get anywhere near another flag again. The rest of them I'm neither here nor there on.
  8. Made it, but had to use google to get here! Thanks for the work guys.
  9. Voted yes as I firmly think he should be, and should have been this year. That said, I think that at the end of the day we have made our bed and now must lay in it, at least for a stretch longer than we already have. Absolutely love the bloke and have done for a long time. Would love to see him made captain, but think that he may have to deal with being one of those players who should have been, but were never in the right situation to be.
  10. I'm over this shizen about players smiling with opponents. As far as I'm concerned, if they are bastards on the field and best mates afterwards, then all good. I have no problem with good sportsmanship. Move on from these petty "worries" fcs.
  11. Geez I love this bloke! When I first heard that we were after him, I was absolutely thrilled, after seeing the game he had in rd 1 last year against Freo. And then thinking he was lost, I wasn't really surprised, but devastated. And then, all of a sudden, we got him and I was ecstatic. And the best thing in all of it is what a gem he has proved to be so far. I wouldn't quite call him for captain, as I believe Nate Jones should have his hard work and loyalty rewarded with the role, but he's a close second for me. Look forward to watching him play out that career, and help us to a flag or two
  12. Can't say it looks blue to me. I zoomed in on the pic, and am sure it is more of a charcoal than a blue. Would definitely be cool if he did wear it though!
  13. I couldn't even sing the song through a choked up throat and tears in the eyes. Can't remember that happening before
  14. Wooooohoooooo. I couldn't even sing the song when the hooter went, as I was all choked up. I do not think I have ever been so happy for a win. Congratulations to all the boys, you did yourselves proud. Garland for forward anyone???
  15. Well done boys. Nice to see you having a bit of belief in yourselves. Prove all the doubters wrong, please!
  16. Loving this. I know it's only early days! I know we'll probably be crying soon! I know we dare not dream, but [censored] me this is good so far
  17. I don't quite see it in the cynical way of a coach just trying to save their own skin, however I believe essentially your analysis is pretty on. Basically to me though, it is simply that he inherited a list and sure as the sky is blue he will not be thrilled with all the players. Therefore, this year is essentially teaching/weeding and next year is when the heat begins. He can get away with this year, and to a lesser extent next year, and after that there better be some improvement, or there will be some pain.
  18. I chuckled out loud. I hate the Bombers, but unfortunately, BomberBlitz has pretty much hit the nail on the head with this one (bar a miracle/debacle I dare not to hope for). I can't see them coming into this game complacent in any way after the weekend just gone. Grrrr, the arrongant bastards make me so angry!
  19. I like the idea, but due diligence is absolutely key. From what I read of the situation, it truly did sound like he was quoted way out of context, and given what we now know about Mifsud, I doubt the credibility of his word very much.
  20. I saw the topic heading and immediately thought: ANYONE! After reading it though, I would have to say Collingwood, as it would send their rabble into meltdown getting beaten by us whiilst we'Re so f'ing useless.
  21. Can't agree with the first sentence, but he's bang on the mark with the rest of it. He may have a bit of a dislike for the Dees, but I really couldn't give a [censored]. In this instance, I just want the players to realise that their effort is nothing short of pathetic, and without a massive upgrade in effort, success will never come. No matter how much talent they have, who the coach, who the sports performance director, or the fitness guru or anyone else on the coaching staff may be.
  22. I was at the game last night, sitting right on the boundary next to where the Melbourne players ran out. I cheered them out at the start, surrounded by Swans members and silence. I cheered them in at half time and out at the beginning of the third. At the end, I had nothing. No cheers, no jeers. Nothing. My mate who I was with (Swans supporter) was incensed with the effort of the Melbourne players. So was I, but I didn't have the will to let them know. My mate let them know though. He wasn't rude, he didn't swear, but he told them they were pathetic. Imagine my surprise and disgust when, after showing no aggression heart or anger on field, Rivers decides to turn around and come at my mate, having to be stopped by security. If we were in Melbourne playing the Filth, they would have been hearing things a hundred times worse than what my mate was saying to them. Perhaps it's that he knows they were pathetic and can't deal with it due to an over inflated ego. I don't know. But what I do know is that I have had enough. I will still be here, supporting the MFC, but for the most part (with only a couple of exceptions) these players have lost me. I know they have talent, and that is probably the worst thing. All I really need to say is Brett Kirk.
  23. I am completely prepared to give them time. They have had a slow start to the season, but so has pretty much every player on the list. There is no doubt that they are class players and class leaders, but these things take time. I did say pre decision that I would like to see Jones get the nod, and in hindsight that probably would have been preferrable, but I don't look at their captaincy as being a big blue. I would be amazed to see any change for next season, as Neeld made it quite clear that this was an appointment for the future and would take time to develop. Give them time, all will be well.
  24. I wish you hadn't trotted out your "no excuse tomorrow" line there WYL. I've heard it before, and nearly every time it seems to be the prelude to a flogging. Please God let Rusty Nails be a prophet.
