Mr. Wells, What you say about the past is 100% accurate and factual. However, it is history. While there are many versions of history depending on who is telling it, the facts are the facts.

Predictions are not set in stone and we all see the future differently. You said that we are missing Fritsch which was a prediction. He is now eligible to play against Sydney if he is fit and well.

Jump up here beside me on the Bathwater Express, experience the comfort of the roo skin upholstered seats, relax and enjoy the ride while you can. I am sure that we will run into some bad traffic at some stage in the season but this time next week I think we will have some added comfort of Swan feather stuffed cushions.

Smile Mr Wells there is nothing to worry about for the next few days.

    Brilliant!

I feel warm and bubbly ?. I'll re-read this before I go to bed for the rest of the season.

Sammy is the kid I was most looking forward to seeing play this season to see how much he has developed.  I've seen both VFL games that Sammy has played this year and he is clearly far too good for this level.

He played some really good footy last year and now about to hit his mid 20's, I was expecting big things this season.

T-Mac and LJ are doing a really good job and I'm happy to see BBB jag a game this weekend but I wonder if he wasn't a new recruit, would he be getting a game above Weideman as from what I have seen in the two games, Weid has been better.

I get that he is competing with T-Mac for his gig but my concern is (and its a great concern) is what if T-Mac, BBB and LJ keep going all season - or we continue rotating two of the three.

Where does this leave the Weid??

I'm the same. Thought Weid showed a lot last year.

I also suspect Weid is a better option than BBB as I believe Weid has a better rounded game.

I'm also bias b/c I'm nervous his moving on EOY if he doesn't get games and we need his age bracket.

  3. We need a FF.

Jackson's being playing great around the ground and a fwd competitor but he's not a fwd (yet).

Tmac is best suited to CHF.

We have been making do because our other areas are so dominant.

Time to cash in with a dominant FF.

BBB or Weid in for a managed Jones.

    Maybe Sparrow in for Melk.

  4. Kinda glad Petty gets a chance. Can't replace AA FB, but I'm bullish on Petty. He deserves to be playing AFL now and in time, I think he'll become a very good key back himself.

Glad we got him on contract until end 22, hope he signs longer.

So, we'll get a good look at him.

  5. We've played dumb wet weather football last couple years when you'd think our contested game wld suit it. I think Goody and Co are finally coaching to our strengths so trust we will adjust our approach to work with the go off the ground approach.

Our intercept game however is much better suited to dry conditions. I'd expect Geelong to have the advantage in the wet with experience and big bodies, but doesn't seem like they have been playing too great, so will depend on whether they're up and about.

At lease we have small fwds going well this year. Hope Melk adds to some fwd efficiency.

Late change Sparrow for Jones wld be good.

  6. At the beginning of the season, I thought to myself, if we can just hang in their until BB and or Weid get back, claim back a decent fwd line. To have both our first choice keys out and be notching up wins has been beyond my expectation.

We have though, had luck going our way with all three teams we've played having a fair injury list and previous week travel adversity. And this looks to continue with Geelongs key outs and I note Hawthorn are playing in the West next week ahead of our game.

So I reckon we've had some fortune align our way. Not withstanding the umpiring was terrible last week and the opposition were decent, but certainly not at their best.

We have definitely improved on last year, that's a fact - we've had our method right, and with another key fwd I think we could really punish some sides on the scoreboard and not just general play.

  7. Like ANB, we'll shop him around, but if we don't get any interest or a worthwhile offer, his asking price goes down and we keep as depth. With the various players up for trade we might be looking for trade return or we might be looking to clear up cap space.

  8. Reckon they thought Smith wld take over Frosty's spot, but he hasn't come on. I also think Frosty and May weren't getting along, he might have been a bit difficult to coach.

Disappointed we let him go. He had a great year before he left and his kicking really improved. Thought he was progressively improving as a player.

He played with real aggression and presence, cld play big or small and good lock down. Reading the flight of the ball was a big weakness, kicking was improving. Think we also wanted to move away from running it out of defence and thereby loosing our structure which killed on turnover.

Yet to be seen, but pick 22 or so we got was very good value. It just doesn't make sense now we have a third tall hole. Tomlinson's a project player now, not the answer.

  9. Had a feeling this was a possibility when the Frost issue arose.

As stated, Pies have a lot of stars and depth to cover in their salary cap. They barely signed on Langdon (a really good Backman) last year which showed the cap strain they are under.

Be good if there was some incentive based payments to hedge against injury.

Think he is a top class player with footy nous.

  10. Well it's not like the FD forgot that he was out of contract. If it's true they low balled an offer, than its a calculated move. Every player is an opportunity and an opportunity cost. Could be we think the compansation/salary cap affords us something else we have in mind - another player (there is a few possibly available ) while Joel Smith Hore or Petty step into the back 6/7.

How about we trade for hawks/nth first pick in exchange for frost and one of the split picks?

  11. I think our 2nd round pick is fair, but if Freo are difficult (which wouldn't suprise me), is the PSD a practical option?

Scenario: Ed asks for a one year deal worth 2 years of $, which is then renegotiated but wards off GCS?

Ifs this is realistic, then its also excellent leverage over Freo.

I still have hopes for KK on the other wing.
