  1. Would love it that you're right Mach! The salt that would provide for those bomber wounds... would be such fun. Looking at Milkshakes highlights, he can extract the ball and belt it long which would have Hogan salivating...
  2. Interesting timing to the Hogan extension discussion from the MFC, its as if they are purposefully indicating Hogans extended tenure to help attract and entice other prospective players to come to the MFC... Wonder who they are?
  3. Agree, the list at Tigerland looks average, but I'm not that familiar with whos who and we'd be looking at a Mid to replace a mid...
  4. Richmond are in an interesting space for us. They think they're close to being a contender and will therefore sacrifice high picks for ready made players that fill their perceived weaknesses. So maybe there's an opportunity for us with Tyson to Tigers... They have picks 12, 31, 49... and players? what would be acceptable for Dom?
  5. Dons are so desperately in need of high draft picks after being banned from the early rounds they'll be looking to keep pick 4 and add top 10 picks. i.e. our pick 6, etc...

  7. Adds another element to future season support as Should the MFC trade its first 2016 pick to GWS for a player, GWS will have a view on where the MFC will finish (i.e. the value of this first pick), and will be hoping we finish as low as possible, and suffering if we were to bounce up the ladder (reducing the value of their pick). Whole new dimension of strategy required by all clubs in order to manage and profit from this new element.
  8. I think the naughty Bennell would be a better bargain than Motlop. Cats won't let him go without a fight.
  9. What ever happened to Mitch?
  10. That's funny given Hogan didn't play...
  11. Its interesting as none of those players would be in most supporter's "top 22 MFC players". So our actual problem is that our current "top 22 player" list is still sub-par, and I'd far prefer to focus on and replace those sub-par "top 22 players", than focus on players outside our top 22 who'll most likely be playing for Casey if we were injury free. To name several sub-par "top 22 players" (on current form) - Dawes, Howe, Jamar, Watts.
  12. Christian Petracca 186cm 94kg Angus Brayshaw 187cm 88kg
  13. CC doing a good job of raising interest in what's predicted to be a one-sided game, raised interest equals more attending equals more $$$ to MFC. I've got no problem with him stirring it up a bit...
  14. He certainly helps the confidence of the mids to have him forward to bang it long to him one on one or charging a pack.
  15. Like how his re-hab being used as prototype for Petracca. hehehe
  16. It's like having the Devil in your corner...
  17. I pledge to drink several pints of cider after each breakthrough.
  18. Can you also add the win over in SA last year, was big and be nice to feel we've knocked over more than just one record since Roo's arrival..?
  19. Saints are in damage control, as they lead their fans to believe Petracca was the No#1 and then changed their minds...
  20. Assuming we get Christian Petracca, is it a good trade for Chip Frawley?
  21. The problem with standardised testing is that it identifies standard qualities but rarely the exceptional and unique attributes that might make a champion. Would Robbie Flower have been identified as a champion? Or Jim Stynes? Or Ablett Snr? How do you test a young man for their burning need to succeed and prove themselves? We're playing in areas of consciousness that is revealed by wise and experienced heads following their intuition, rather than a bunch of statisticians with testing devices trying to come up with the magic formulae. Petracca appears to have the natural talent plus hunger and aggression to do very well. Fingers crossed.
  22. Its new and scary when something good happens to the MFC... Like, what's the catch?
  23. watch his highlights on http://www.afl.com.au/draft/draft-machine as he hits many targets lace out, long and low or well weighted...
  24. The Challenge the Saints have is they will be competing for the services of any power forward with several other Melbourne clubs (i.e. Carlton, Richmond, etc...) and are not guaranteed in getting their man, recruiting McCartin removes the risk. Also, I don't agree that mids are a dime a dozen, what we're hoping for with Petracca is a elite mid, and they are as rare as hens teeth...
  25. Watched his highlights again today and his in close pack work is sublime plus he has grunt, burst and can mark. If the Saints pass, happy times.
