It's hilarious how this very minor issue has triggered the "Old man shouting at clouds" brigade.
What would you rather shout at. The clouds or your missus. Clouds are much safer.

Petty is contracted for 2 more years. It is his foot that is the current dilema.

I would absolutely be putting Rivers in the centre square this year. Great player.

Gun player. I would like to see him on the wing.

This year is our last year for a premiership. Unfortunately there are some sour tasting grapes like Smith Clarry and Pettys foot.

We can be a contender alright but I believe it is our last year.

Before your dad and uncle are accused of being unkind, you might explain to the readers under 60 yo that there was a time where it was common for a chap to leave the wife and children in a car while he went in for a few beers. Occasionally, a lemon squash would be brought out to the bride to drink in the car, particularly on country trips
They wern't unkind it was just the way it was. Mum refused to go to the footy anyway so it did not bother her.

Interesting morning session on day 3 of test vs pakis. We need a few wickets otherwise they will just dig in and I believe play for a draw.

Some time in the 60s. I can always recall my dad and uncle stopping at a pub in Burwood road and I would be stuck in the car for 2 to 3 hours while they got [censored] to the eyeballs. This went on for a few years.

It will be very interesting to see how she goes as head coach of a poor West Coast.

Is there a worse team than the stars collectively? I think they have the worst team in world sport. They have Maxwell and the rest are a joke. Whoever was the brain trust in trading Zampa for Harper must be sacked immediately.
Look lke spooners again to me. As a star supporter it feels a bit like barracking for melbourne under Neeld.

Prime Minister's II vs Pakistan Day 1 (4 day match)
Not all that familiar with a number of the Pakistan players but most of the batsmen have healthy batting averages and their fast bowling could surprise a few
A slow wicket in Canberra apparently which contrasts greatly to the Perth wicket for the 1st Test starting next week (Thursday 14th)
Hard to get interested in PMs match but looking forward to the first test. Panikstan have always beeen a mystery test side but they do have a couple of good players. Will be interestd to watch Afridi and if can get the ball placed correctly in Perth.

Birch and Sherriff can go but I wouldd try and keep West. Yes her foot disposal is shocking ( putting it mildly ) but inside efforts are as good as anyone in the comp. She is like a wolverine on a mooses carcus.

Who knows what is really going on at the club. There is a real chance we could drop out of the 8 as there is we could go close to winning it.
I really wonder what happened with the girls side. Relevant to the men at all or not ?????

Got to bed at 0300 hours in a delightful mood. Head really surprised me with his no nonsense attitude. Great batting. It enabled Marnus to play a test match style innings which he did well.

The slow wicket concerns more so because the Indian bowlers are brought up on these sort of tracks
But apparently the dew arrives in the evenings and they are having a decent break between innings
Interesting that in the last World cup in 2019 both teams posted scores of 241 and in the 1987 final in India, Australia made 5/253 vs England 8/246
Much will depend on our top 3 getting amongst the runs and we would probably want Smith or Marnus to bat to the end of our innings ... do that and we probably win
Yep. one of Head and Warner will have to play well. I am going to back Warner. If we lose a wicket in the first 5 overs I would bring Smith in front of Marsh.

I thaught we bowled really well. 2411 to win. It will be hard but very do able. Well I may be wrong about bowling first but it be easy. Lets hope it is dewy.

Interesting that we've won the toss and elected to bowl ... happy to chase a total. It's a bold and confident move
Let's hope we bowl well
I think Cummins blew his shot. I would have definetly batted. Just an opinion. Hope he proves me wrong.
Hope they get Sharma and Kohli out early. Might see some decent rioting in Indian cities.😁

Forward Line & Backup Ruck Issues Going into 2024 and beyond ...
in Melbourne Demons
Posted
As for our forward line if we play finals then Petty, jvr and Fritta are have to be there or we will be cooked. As for the ruckman well Gawn is irreplaceable but I do hold out hope for Verrall but that is long term. If Gawn goes down this year we will have a choice of people incuding TMAC, Schache and Spargo. We are stuffed. Jvr can only be used as a ruck sparingly throughout a game.
