  1. Legends are made from finals performances, particularly in Grand Finals.
  2. In most matches there are quite a few rotations of centre square personnel. In the GF it was always Gawn/Jackson + Oliver/Trac/Viney. Perhaps once or twice Harmes was in there? I guess in a GF you put in the A team as much as possible.
  3. More random comments after watching the replay ... yet again. Quite of few of the early goals were the result of errors .... by Bailey Williams (x2), Lever and Petty. Fritsch's goal after he grabbed the ball after he and Max contested the mark was brilliant. He landed like a cat, kept his feet and then snapped truly. (I would love to say he was "off to the races" but that wasn't really applicable.) Johanisson had both hands in Bowey's back before taking his big mark. Put Bowey right out of the contest. Could easily have been a free kick. I think we at least broke even with the umpiring. Some dodgy decisions against us ... Hunter (dog), Macrae free kicks weren't there - ducking. Spargo and Kozzy unlucky not to be paid free kicks. However Schache was unlucky not to get one in Q3, and BBB's free kick in Q4 was pretty soft. The less said about Max's goal (credited as a point) the better. Still, none of it matters at all now !!!
  4. Random comments. Spot on re Lyon. Dreadful individual. Macguire also tipped against Melbourne. Reason ... he hates Melbourne. Suck on a big bag Triplechins!!! I'm not a fan of Garry Lyon either, but I thought he conducted himself really well on GF day ... in presenting the Cup, and his post match interviews. Well done sir. Some people said that seeing your team win a flag can be an anti climax. Not the case with me. I hate that Bulldogs player Hunter. He should hone his driving skills rather than developing expertise in staging for free kicks. How long should I leave Demons stuff on my front window- scarves/streamers/posters ? Is a month too long?
  5. I'm so happy. Supporter since 1966. Thank you Demons ... coaching staff + players. And my beautiful daughter who watched the match with me ... And thank you to my Demonland family !!! I'll be going beserk with the Demons merchandise.

  7. I'm chillin' listening to Thick as a Brick (Jethro Tull).
  8. GF cup could be renamed The Allen Jakovich cup.
  9. My son lives in London. A Demons' supporter of course. He's booked a ticket to watch it at the Hope & Anchor in Brixton. _____________________________________________________________________________________ The AFL Grand Final LIVE in London in South London's best sports bar! 10. Footy Classified. Lloyd and Wilson tipped Demons. Lyon and Triplechins tipped Bulldogs.
  11. They are awesome. Useless fact #323 .... I know Grange's sister. She is one of the nicest people I know.
  12. Not convinced about that Knight poster, but if the Dees win I'll certainly buy it and get it framed.
  13. I love the Scared Weird Little Guys. I remember walking through the MCG carpark after a Melbourne match in the 1980s. I walked past Jim Keays, who was also wearing a Demons scarf. I said "g'day Jim" or something similar. He looked at me, said nothing, looked away then kept walking. Oh well, never meet your heroes they say !! I suppose I shouldn't speak ill of the dead.
  14. Sadly The Age is similarly a little paper. It ceased being a broadsheet in 2013.
  15. I'm ok with Wines winning. However, Jimmy Toumpas was a fine signing.
  16. I left the 88 GF in the third quarter. I can't quite remember whether I left the 2000 GF before the end. I was with my son (he was 7) so I probably stayed to the (bitter) end.
  17. I'm thinking Trac will outpoll Clarrie. Mainly because Trac is so likeable, and Clarrie less so.
