  1. Despite the standard of the match I had a fantastic time. I went with my 2 beautiful daughters ... their first match this year, elder being a new mother, and the younger down from Sydney for a few days. Dinner at the ground and beaut seats. Sitting near my incredibly annoying Blues supporter mate, and listening to him whining about umpiring. And sitting behind another Blues supporter who was making absolutely hilarious comments during the match. (Seriously!) Sadly he disappeared after half time. And after the match, meeting up with another Demons' mate in the Blazer Bar for a celebratory drink. We don't sit together at the match, but if the Demons win, we always meet up there post match. (Don't bother if we lose.) Excuse my ramblings, but it really was a great night ... particularly the being with my daughters' part.
  2. He's a very good exponent of the set shot. He has a very uncomplicated kicking routine.
  3. I've been to every MFC home match this season. Please excuse me for not going on KB. Quite simply the filth people do my head in with their constant booing, yelling "ball" every few seconds and the ridicuous "USA, USA" chant. I hate the filth (to quote my ex wife)"with every fibre of my being". Although she said it in a different context. I promise to go to every other MFC home match this season ... and even matches at Marvel !! Am I forgiven?
  4. I'll be at the match with my 2 beautiful daughters (younger one down from Sydney) ... and before the match at a function at the G. They are both Demons, of course. Hopefully the team does the right thing to make it a truly memorable night. But sadly I haven't been vaccinated for MFCSS.
  5. Re McKay's kicking for goal .... For some reason I'm reminded of Travis Cloke kicking 7.0 against us years ago.
  6. Big stakes ... playing for the Vin Catoggio Cup.
  7. We need to bring in another tall, possibly Tomlinson. (Why do peeps call him Thommo? There's no 'h' in his name, and it can't even be justified on a phonetic* basis!! Sorry.) If not him, then I guess it's Schache or Smith. No way Lever should play on McKay or Curnow. *Isn't it ironic that the word 'phonetic' is not spelt phonetically? It should be spelt 'fonetic' ?
  8. I was at the 1987 PF too. Yes, it was so, so bad. I woke up the next morning hoping it had been a bad dream. Having said that, it didn't cost us a flag. We would have been thumped in the GF the following week by (coincidentally) Carlton.
  9. There should be a separate thread about Cerra/MRO decisions. Rather than hijack the pregame thread.
  10. Cerra ... lol. Is anyone seriously surprised? Cripps will play.
  11. HH ... it's a yes from me too.
  12. An additional tall defender must come in. I guess it has to be one of Tomlinson (most likely) or Smith or Schache. I'm not a huge fan of any of those gents, but Lever can't play on McKay or Curnow. As has been said repeatedly, he's not a particularly good one on one defender. He needs to be the third man up/inteceptor.
  13. I wonder how much he lost ....
  14. Lukisous charged front on. No free kick .... thankfully Humphrey kicked a miraculous goal.
  15. Umpires doing their best to get the Dogs home
  16. Mac Andrew is trying for a world record for the number of his kicks being smothered. Rowell is a freak.
  17. Sadly I think that the Bulldogs will run over the top of Gold Coast. I hope I'm wrong.
  18. He turned sideways. Would you believe it ... he disappeared!!
  19. Early last week Sportsbet had Freo at $4.10. Ridiculous odds. I put a few bucks on at that price. I would rather have lost my money.
  20. What a funny old fellow is Humphrey. He gets in all manner of strife.
  21. Bad kicking is bad football.
  22. I was at the match. There was never a moment that I thought we'd win. I've seen the movie too many times. At least I had a nice lunch, and a few drinks, so the day wasn't a total loss.
  23. Deserved to lose
  24. He's referred to as a lizard. Not sure about that .... there's a case for him being described as a rikali, or an otter.
  25. What's the bet that Curnow & McKay kick straight next week? I still recall Travis Cloke kicking 7 straight against us years ago.
