  1. I don't think the Leafs are going to have any players left by this time next week. One of the biggest clean outs of a team in any sport that I can recall. Being a Dees supporter I feel a great deal of sympathy for Edmonton. Their struggles are almost identical to ours and they are playing without any passion at all. I hope they can turn it around...it seems like McDavid's the only one trying, and despite his best efforts, the team isn't improving.
  2. I was actually searching for a gif of lemmings going off a cliff, but found that one to be more appropriate. I think it's from a Spanish tv show.
  3. I know that you're being facetious, but I'm actually quite looking forward to seeing how Terlich goes. By most accounts he's had a great preseason, and based on this positive report, he's in fantastic shape having shed 8kg and recorded a personal best in the 3km time-trial. While I know it's highly unlikely that he'll come into the team and become one of our best players, I'll be watching with interest to see whether his strong pre-season translates into on-field improvement in 2016. It sounds like his hard work has at least put him in strong contention for selection in the NAB matches.
  4. Looking forward to seeing what he can do. The ball's in his court: if he can string a few good games together, he'll play round one.
  5. I'm just looking forward to seeing how our game plan has developed into a, hopefully, more attacking style, as well as to getting a look at the young guys that are selected like Oliver, Hunt, Hulett, King, etc.
  6. I saw that Gawn stated his desires to be in the LG yesterday. While I think he's great player and admire his aspirations, the most games he's ever played in a season is 13. I think he should focus on continuing to improve his own game and staying on the park before he's elevated to the LG.
  7. I don't think we disagree about our ruck situation. I think it's inevitable that Gawn will miss at least a couple of games this year, which means Spencer's health is important so that we're not left blooding one of the Kings too early or putting Frost or Dawes in the ruck for extended periods of time. I'm sure that if King2 do not come on as hoped in 2016, we'll be addressing the ruck stocks in the offseason.
  8. I'd say it's unlikely we'll get Brayshaw. I think if we're active with trades we'll be looking to bring in more experienced players rather than youngsters. Not that I wouldn't love a second Brayshaw...
  9. I thought he showed glimpses last season and definitely seems worth persisting with. If he wants to become a regular in the team, though, he'll need to improve his defensive running.
  10. What's wrong with the bolded players?
  11. "Jayden Hunt came through school footy [at Brighton Grammar] with Josh Kelly and Salem and was right up with them as a player when he was much younger early but they grew and he didn't and he dropped off until he grew again. He did some eye-catching things in school games this year." ~ Jason Taylor (recruitment manager) From here. Hunt didn't play TAC Cup
  12. We tend not to do too well when we go into a match as favourites, so I wouldn't let it get you down.
  13. I put him in that category due to the lack of other viable options, not solely as a result of his ability. At this stage it seems that ruck is the main position that we need to address in the offseason regardless of what the club decides to do with Spencer. Wright would be a great pickup, but would probably come at quite a high cost. I'd be happy to see us go through the rookie draft to find a competent mature aged player to support Gawn. Hopefully one of the Kings comes on well.
  14. I don't see him as a list clogger in that he provides us with some very important backup. Like I said, I don't think he's a world beater, but I see his value to the club. He's a free agent this year and it will be interesting to see what the club decides to do with him.
  15. I rate him as a handy enough back-up option and love his intensity, and we really don't have too many others that are yet capable of running out full games in the ruck at senior level. On somewhat of a side note, I was reminded of this tackle when replying: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUG3EzY8UQE
  16. Interesting...for some reason I thought that he'd been injured much more often than that. Perhaps my perception has been clouded because he's so frequently in and out of the seniors. I hope his injury isn't too serious. While he's no world beater, we really need to have him available in case Gawn goes down.
  17. There are quite a few on our list who that sentence applies to. I'm just curious about Spencer in particular as he never seems to be able to get a good run at it.
  18. It'd be interesting to know what percentage of time Spencer's been injured since we drafted him. Seems to struggle with injuries every year.
  19. According to KC, they are Conner Ambler, Aaron Cottee, James Freeman, Jake Lovett, Jordan Moncrieff, James Munro, Angus Scott and Kody Wilson
  20. If you think it's too early to talk about the 2016 draft, don't bother venturing over to the Kalani White thread.
  21. From everyone's favourite tabloid, the Herald Sun: VILLAIN Jack Fitzpatrick didn’t have the most ideal first game in Hawthorn colours, attempting two shots at goal and spraying both. The second was particularly ugly.
  22. The issue is that the AFL has a Laws of the Game Committee (aka a rules committee). If you have a rules committee, there will be new rules every year, because that's what the committee's job is. If the AFL were to scrap the "Laws of the Game Committee", all of this crap would be easily eliminated.
  23. I'd like to see Harmes play on Shaw again. He did reasonably well against him in round 23 and was able to exploit him in the air when opportunities arose.
