  1. Gysberts' signing is great news for the club - a really pleasing outcome. Yep, he's only played a few senior games, but the way that he racks up possesions along with his clean disposal gives us all something to look forward to. With some more bulk, you can see him developing into a Joel Corey type.
  2. Agree with the sentiment 'Bailey's Babies'. If Newton can provide a contest, consistently then great. I'd like to see him succeed, but from everything he's shown at the top level so far, he can't or won't give sustained efforts - he looks damn lazy.
  3. I may be wrong, and I'd be happy to eat my words, but I just can't see it happening with Newton. He's had more than enough time to prove himself, and he's only a bit player at best with little intensity. If we are to progress as a serious threat in years to come, I can't see him being the answer. Although he might not be as naturally gifted, I'd have Stef Martin in my side ahead of Newton every day of the week given the effort he puts in and the flexibility he provides.
  4. Absolutely agree Franga. I think Jack has the smarts to play in defence. Let him run straight ahead and use his vision and quality disposal to set up play rather than trying to be the focal point up forward. It might help him learn to read the play better and get a better appreciation for the intensity needed to play as a hard-working forward at the top level. It would be interesting seeing him swap roles with Garland for a while.
  5. It's about time that we do. But it's not just the North hoodoo that we need to get over, it's playing at Docklands. We're all at sea at the ground and have been for too long. I'd love to absolutely [censored] them after that s@$t of a match last year when Ricky buggered his shoulder. Need to shut Boomer and Swallow down.
  6. The AFL wouldn't know. They think we clash with Port (red & blue vs black, teal and white) yet there's no clash between us and Brisbane's 'Fitzroy' jumper. They'd struggle getting the socks sorted out.
  7. What's with the AFL's clash uniform policy? The biggest consistency is its inconsistency. Last week we play Brisbane, and out of the three jumpers they have to choose from, they wear the one featuring the most red and blue, including red socks! Yet we play GC today and have to change into the hoops. I don't get it. They make it up as they go, the AFL. I mean surely when GC were designing a new uniform from scratch, they could have come up with a kit that didn't clash with a team that has been in the competition from day one - bizzare.
  8. Hi All. I've been an avid Demonland reader for the past few years bust haven't ever joined up. That changes for season 2011 - hope to make a meaningful contribution to MFC discussions.

  9. Just saw this story on the Herald Sun website. He's quit. Very disappointing. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/cameron-bruce-quits-demons/story-e6frf9jf-1225948802994
  10. Just saw on the Herald Sun website that Brucey has decided to quit, opting to nominate for the national or pre-season drafts. It mentions Hawthorn as a possible new home.
