  1. Charlie marks at CHF distance challenges him turnover pass. Campbell Brown in wonderment about #9 failure to kick the goal shot. Dumb Dumb forward entry high and reboundable. Mitch Hardy shows how to do it. Runs balances drills it.
  2. Howes getting amongst it. Cream good grab. Ricky Mentha now Mitch Hardy goal after marking in goal square. Luker collects the loose bouncing ball misses. Commentators call out umpire failing to award insufficient intent. Casey defence under pressure showing some discombobulation. Better players Hardy, Howes, Baldi, Billings, Bonner. Verrall solid in the ruck. Pup Brown busy but needs polish.
  3. Holding the ball latitude give the umpire a compass. Ricky Mentha monster goal from 50m.
  4. Campbell Brown is channeling Harrison Ford (Ancient Greek Gods Warriors and Heroes) Ground looks like a billiard table. Some terrific tackles but questionable non- decisions. Bees goal shot clanger followed by Pup flat footed (allows mark and goal). Scrambling stuff from Casey. Adams showing the stuff. Mitch Hardy poster.
  5. Recall seeing Brian Dixon playing in the twilight of his on field days resplendent in his long sleeved guernesy on the members wing in the depth of winter. Back then the MCG playing field was a lot heavier particularly with the Merri Creek wicket in the centre. No modern sports 'slippers' just high ankle boots with the leather studs. Brian's kicking action as mentioned in an earlier post was unorthodox but effective quickly on the boot downfield. At the non-merger rally at the 'G years later. Brian introduced Jospeh Gutnick to the faithful and sang the full two verse version of 'It's a Grand Old Flag' with Geoff Tunbridge. And a final family anecdote, my mother had a flat tyre one evening on St Kilda Road. Parliamentarian and all, he stopped got out his vehicle and assisted with putting on the spare tyre and getting her on her way. Old fashion Melbourne at its best. Vale Brian Dixon.
  6. Retribution Redemption or Resilience? Opportunity knocks once again for Casey Demons butt can the slide into the abyss of irrelevance be arrested? This weekโ€™s inns would appear to strengthen defence and midfield. Paddy Cross โ€˜restedโ€™ after a recent injury is a loss but Noah Yze has been recalled with Patrick Ireland ๐Ÿ€. Wish them luck at Whitten Oval.

  10. Not sure of his TOF % but looked OK in patches 14 disposals and 5 tackles. Caleb Windsor was more involved this week. Taj Woewodin went alright 21 disposals 7 tackles. Jai Culley was going like a steam train in the first half but ran out of puff. Luker Kentfield is showing definite promise 10 marks 2 goals 4 behinds. Some big pack marks amongst that kicking improved as the game progressed. If his current trajectory continues he must be a chance of a debut this season.
