  1. 3 centuries, a wonderful tribute to the memory of PH. A number of critics of MC are no doubt reconsidering given the way the Captain has performed in the past couple of weeks.
  2. The team for the first test in Adelaide - 1 Chris Rogers, 2 David Warner, 3 Shane Watson, 4 Michael Clarke (capt), 5 Steven Smith, 6 Mitchell Marsh, 7 Brad Haddin (wk), 8 Mitchell Johnson, 9 Ryan Harris, 10 Peter Siddle, 11 Nathan Lyon. Hazlewood unlucky whilst Lyon needs to show something on a track that should suit, his form has been horrible.
  3. Not Malcolm ? He did have a habit of losing his strides.
  4. Some low life listed the order of service booklet from Phillip Hughes' funeral on eBay before the proceedings had even finished. Fortunately eBay had the decency to remove the listing. Disgusting.
  5. Fox played highlights of Phil's magnificent ton against South Africa tonight, jeez I found it hard to watch.
  6. Brendon McCullum made this statement, earlier today: "On behalf of the BLACKCAPS I want to make the following statement. Our focus at the moment is not on our performances, it is all about Phil. We are heartbroken for Phil's family, Greg, Virginia, Megan and Jason. No one should go through what you guys are going through right now. We are reaching out to Phil's family, Michael Clarke and the Australian boys, medical staff, fans, all who have been affected by Phil's passing. We are also reaching out to Sean Abbott. You are all in our thoughts, our hearts and in Phil's case, our memories. Cricket is a sport, but the cricket community is a family. We are here for you, we are thinking ofyou." I have nothing to add.
  7. In my 71 years I cannot remember a passing of a sportsman that has brought a similar response from all over the globe. Astonishing.
  8. OMG, Phil Hughes has passed away. Terrible just terrible, only 26 years of age. RIP.
  9. Alan Jones reports this afternoon that Phil has damaged an artery and is breathing only with assistance. More serious than most of us thought. Not good.
  10. Shame as he was on the way to a very good ton. Cricket is the least of Phil's worries at present, all we can do is wish him well. I was following the game on cricinfo.com and to be honest felt sick in the guts as the drama unfolded.
  11. Hughes and Ferguson both have a real chance to press for a place with a big innings against a very good NSW attack.
  12. Like it or not Watson is the best option at three and is likely to be for some time if you care to consider technique and stroke making. Biggest obstacle is fitness and has been for some years.
  13. Been a fan of Callum Ferguson for some time and he is in fine form. Lyon is a worry.
  14. Clarke re injuring his hamstring again during the ODI last night puts a cat amongst the pigeons. Hughes perhaps, shame that Khawaja is not fit.
  15. The Shield competition has been in the doldrums for some time with CA interfering far too much. Laughable that last season they instructed Wade not to bowl Pattinson for more than 10 overs in an innings during one game - what a joke. If introducing this new points system produces more attacking cricket then it's a good move, doesn't mean upper order batsmen need to bat recklessly and it prevents teams batting on endlessly to obtain 2 points for a first innings victory which in many cases killed the contest for outright points.. Seems to be working well so far.
  16. Not a fan of the 20/20 however will take a series win over the Proteas with a Victorian getting the job done. Well done Cam White, composed under pressure.
  17. Been rumoured before that MC does not enjoy the full support of the entire group. Past incidents with Katich, Symonds, Watson and Hussey have not helped his cause. Great batsman yes, leader maybe not.
  18. I see Boof is suggesting that Marsh and Watson could both play. I would prefer to see Watson at three in preference to Doolan leaving Marsh at 6 as he has a future imo.
  19. Not pleased at all Macca, 20/20 is shite cricket and one of the reasons some of our guys have forgotten the basics. We were comprehensively out played yet nothing went our way. Fielding cost us dearly, still spewin' about Siddle dropping a sitter before Misbah had scored.
  20. Shame about her propensity for all things Collingwood
  21. Our bowling and fielding has been sub standard. Credit to their spin bowlers who have been extraordinary. As has been mentioned before, our batsmen don't seem to learn - not good enough.
  22. My point exactly, we should be learning.
  23. Absolute embarrassment.
  24. Rubbing the salt in and I can feel some pain.
  25. Understand that Macca and I also accept that the opposition are too good under these dust bowl conditions. What I fail to understand is why we don't learn from these defeats, after all these guys are professionals and the best players in the land. I'll exclude Maxwell from that comment as if he is a Test cricketer, my name is Billy Graham.
